Covid vaccine: Hi guys, anyone here had their covid... - LUPUS UK
Covid vaccine
Gps dont want you to call them .....be patient I'm sure they will be in touch when it's your turn.we are all waiting in the same queue!
Ps shielding doesnt end once vaccinated you still got to continue as the immune response in us isnt clear yet .
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking as I’m a NHS worker, I can have it with other NHS worker as they started vaccinated the NHS worker. So I don’t need to do it at the GP.
Hi Sezvic ,
Either of the vaccines currently being administered in the UK are generally safe and recommended for people with lupus.
If you need more information, please take a look at our article here - lupusuk.org.uk/covid19-vacc...
Thank you Paul.
Hi
Am a nurse in one of the NHS hospitals and we were all invited to book and have the covid vaccine. I missed an appointment on 30 Dec and was given another early January. I have had the vaccine with no problems. I think every Trust is doing it slightly different. Occ health would be the best people to advise you on this. As you work in the NHS, you are right you should be having yours sooner. Hope this helps
Hi, I work for the NHS and had my vaccine this week. I work in a hospital and after an initial rush for bookings they are now just running a drop in centre for staff. I checked with my rheumy and the nurse giving the jabs and all agreed it was safe to give to me as my lupus is not currently controlled by immunosupressant. The decision, booking or getting the jab had nothing to do with my GP.
I had mine in December and am due to have my 2nd dose on Sunday (I had the Pfizer vaccine). I am currently seeing patients but in a lower risk setting but it’s still a risk so I felt it was important to get my vaccine ASAP. I take hydroxychloroquine and had a sore arm and the hint of a headache, other than that I was fine and I haven’t had a flare up afterwards. I hope you can get yours soon
I'm having my vaccine on Saturday. I received a text from my GP surgery with a link inviting me to book one. It only took a couple of minutes to book and I'm having it at a vaccination centre about a mile from where I live. I know of a few other people who have had it at the same place and they've had the Phizer vaccine, so waiting to see which.
