Hello everyone

Hope your coping with this cold, grey weather.

This weeks pic is of another friendship between a shire horse and a shetland pony, We had one a while ago and i checked if it was the same one. It isnt , its a new pairing at a centre in Cheshire. Its wonderful to know how they form close bonds.

Keep warm, safe and as well as possible.

Lovely photo ❤️ It certainly has been cold these last couple of weeks. Went down to -7 last night 🥶 Have been putting on extra layers to keep warm. I have a rheumatology appointment, at the hospital, tomorrow. My first since October 2019. Getting a lift from my brother, who lives with my Mum and I, so thankfully don’t have to get a bus. I admit I am slightly anxious going into a hospital but have been reassured, by my cousin who works there, that it is perfectly safe. Hospital has been divided so that any COVID patients are well away from other areas of the hospital.

Stay safe and warm Xx

Glad you liked the pic ge. Its freezing down south too so no wonder your really cold !. Its a proper winter. Good luck tomorrow, you will have a lot to discuss having waited so long!. It is a worry having to go to hospital but im glad your cousin could reassure you!. Where on the frontline does she work?. Such a worry for everyone this all is. Thank goodness your brother can take you. Real family affair of help when you need it the most!.

I do hope your appt goes well and you dont have to wait too long. Do let us know how you get on. 🤞❤🤞Xx

Aww Lovely pic😍. My friend in Canada used to have a Shetland , it was great friends with her other horses and she would regularly take it to the local school for children with special needs, they loved it as did the little pony ... hope you’re keeping warm my lovely, we had a hard frost last night that has lasted all day🥶🥰xxx

Hello my dear, glad you liked the pic dianne. It shows how sociable shetlands are as this is a new pairing and your friend 's lovely experiences with them in Canada. Lovely to see how they can make such a difference. Are you still in touch.?. I always was quite scared of horses as a child but thought a shetland was the perfect size!. Ha!.

Its so cold and grey here too dianne. This freeze has been a long time now!. You got your home improvements done just in time!. Hope your woodburner is still keeping you cosy!. Keep safe and well. Xx

Yes we’re lovely and cosy here thanks Helen , we haven’t got a frost like last night .although it’s still cold 🥶 I’m still in touch with my friend, we’ve known each other since we were five, we were best friends but her family emigrated when we were ten, we were heartbroken to be parted so have always stayed in touch, she’s had a few visits here and we went there in 2003 when she was living in Maine, a beautiful part of the States, she’s back in Canada now.

I hope you’re managing in Lockdown #3 and getting your shopping ok, all operations are cancelled here apart from emergencies, I wonder if it’s the same there, depressing isn’t it?

Take care

Stay safe and warm

Big hugs 🤗 🥰🥶🔥💐xxx

Hello dear dianne, what a very special friendship you have with her. I hope shes been ok in Canada at this awful time!. Im so glad you were able to visit her albeit a long time ago now. Its so like me and my U.S penpal although not so long with us. Ive been very distracted as on xmas eve she told me she has covid and she has lupus!. She said how awful it is and iim worrying about her so much. Cant get her out of my thoughts really. Shes gone quiet again which worries me more. We have arranged small email contact!. We're very close like you are!.

Its a hard time and waiting for our vaccine appts.

Ops are cancelled like you and emergencies only. I havent even heard about having a steroid jab for my toe. It really makes everything tough , specially back to shielding!. I doubt id have one now! That feels very depressinvg in jan!. You want to feel your going forwards not back.

Im missing strictly badly now. I bet you are too. Hope your feeling a little better . We got our deliveries ok too Dianne. Thanks for asking. Easier now to get dates. How about you?.

Keep warm and safe, lovely. Its gone milder today thankfully. Xx

I’m so sorry Helen, it really is rotten luck for you with your pain and having to wait even longer for your op, I do feel for you. Luckily my tum has been behaving so I’m not in a hurry for mine( hope I haven’t spoken too soon😬) I do hope your friend is ok, it is a worry isn’t it, Mick’s cousin is in hospital with Covid, her whole family have had it and her father in law passed away with it just before Christmas, thankfully she is improving well and going home soon, she’s only in her 30’s, it’s very nerve wracking when it’s so close to home so I hope you hear from your friend soon.

I’ve got a lot of rib pain again, I spoke to my GP today , he says it’s costochondritis, we went for a walk the other day and my chest started hurting so much, I had to stop I thought I’d got angina! It’s never ending is it, it’s as though we’re not allowed to be without pain😫

Oh yes I always miss strictly for 9 months of the year! Seems ages before it’s back again , let’s hope that we’ll be in a much better place by then, fingers crossed we’ll get the vaccine soon, even though we’ll still have to be careful for a long time to come at least it’s another level of protection and a way back to something more normal.

Well my dear, please take care.. Big hugs 🤗 💕🌸🌝xxx

Hello dianne, so sorry your suffering too with costrocronditis. Its really painful and can just keep happening!. My chest pain can be so like angina too, its weird and horrible. Any suggestions how to treat it?. Im sorry about mick's cousin been in hospital with covid. Relief shes better and can go home. Hope not too long a recovery road for her. Im praying my penpal keeps out of hospital. I worry more if i dont hear from her, its awful!.

I spoke too soon about tesco delivery dates. Had a shock this aft how booked up they are so couldnt get the next fortnight date mum wanted. Ive been lax not checking in view of lockdown!. How about you?.

Do agree hopefully by Spring we'll be in a better place and had our jab. Just had a text from our surgery admitting a supply problem and how they cant deviate from the plan nhs england have set out!. They've asked for patience as it will get better and to still follow lockdown rules. Its good we havent been forgotten. Have you had a text from yours?.

Its funny really as seeing the news and having had to contact my dentist today , its made me think i may delay my tooth veneer treatment and its not worth risking a steroid jab( if offered and i dont think it will be), as we're so close to the end it would be terrible to get it now!. I was asked first time at dentist if i was shielding and for most part they were asking them to keep at home till maybe mid feb!. I was able to choose if i wanted to go. I think it would depend on tooth problem!. Life has become so complicated!.

Ill be sending you to sleep now dianne. Do hope your tummy stays better, what a difference that must be and that costro pain hurries up and eases.

TAKE CARE lovely and keep safe. Big hug. Xx❤😍❤💐🤞💐🤗❤🤗❤

Thanks Helen, I’ve been taking Arcoxia for the last two days and it’s a bit easier this evening but of course I worry about my kidneys, I can’t take them for too long, I have a blood test to check them next week so fingers crossed 🤞 Yes I’ve had a message from my surgery and my GP told me yesterday that they’re busy doing vaccines so I’m hoping I’ll get it at my surgery rather than standing in those awful queues I’ve seen in the news at centres, hopefully we’ll here soon.

Funny you should mention the dentist, I went yesterday as I’ve had toothache so on antibiotics now and had X-ray , hoping they’ll do the trick otherwise it’s root canal and a crown 😫

I had my mammogram too on Sunday and I’ve got a hospital appointment next week too and I have to say I feel nervous going into these settings but so far they’ve been very well managed and no hanging around, in and out very quickly. I think you have to do what you feel comfortable and safe with and weighing up your medical needs.

I haven’t had too much of a problem with delivery slots, apart from not being able to get a slot at the beginning of the week but that’s ok, I hope you manage to get yours, it’s a pain if you have to keep checking! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Take care, big hugs 🤗 💕🥰🌸xxx

misty14 in reply toExtremeDuvetDaze

Hello dear Dianne,Glad the Arcoxia is helping and

🤞 your bloods are ok.! Its a constant worry isn't it?. Ive got a similar one with Mtx and Liver!. Monthly bloods I'm stuck on which like you I wouldn't choose but it needs checking!.

We've had a breakthru today, call from our surgery for my parents jabs next week!. It will be in our local leisure centre. Big relief!. Hopefully you will be able to have yours soon. At least now I know I'm next but they're having to keep to the strict order laid down by NHS England!. I'm with the over 70's!.

The appt's don't stop do they despite the pandemic. I'm sorry your juggling a lot too. Fingers crossed

🤞 the antibiotics help that tooth and you can keep away from the Dentist. I do so agree with you about balancing our safety against medical need and only we can say what is important or not!. I may have to ask dental advice though about this tooth as got that and bloods in same week!.

Good to hear that in the medical settings you've been to you felt safe. Amazing to have a mammogram on a sunday. !.Glad the unit felt safe. Mum's is due this year and she'd been wondering how it might be.

I am having to keep checking the Tesco site for our feb dates!. Lesson learn't as they are releasing them ahead so I'll get the fortnight's better. Hope you get yours ok!.

I'll be thinking of you for next week, hope it goes well. Let me know how you get on.

Hope the pain keeps improving and you keep safe and warm. Big hugs Xx

Hi Misty, I’ve heard of Shetland ponies being used as companions for other horses before. A few that were rescued a few years back I read were taken on by people needing a companion for a solitary horse or pony. I suppose they don’t take up as much room as another full sized horse. I’ve heard they can be feisty though, so will no doubt keep their larger companions on their toes or hooves! 😂😂 So lovely to see a shire and shetland being the best of pals - Little and Large. 😁 Thanks for posting such a lovely heart-warming post Misty. I hope you are keeping occupied and happy in this gloomy weather. I’m keeping busy with crafts and occasional decluttering. Love and hugs 🤗😍

So glad your keeping well occupied. So am i and an email will be arriving to you very soon. Keep warm and well. Xx❤😍❤🔥

Oh no bless you. Rest up and keep warm Misty. I hope your pain eases, it drags you down doesn’t it? I will reduce steroids to 25 mg tomorrow so thankfully the side effects are lessening. My peak flows are still a bit on the low side but my sats are not bad. Hopefully I will get some contact with the Respiratory specialists soon xxx

Thank you cecily for your lovely, understanding message. Pain certainly does drag us down!. I've had this particular problem nearly 2 years now as I'm on an op waiting list!. Its a long time and then covid came along.Be careful with your breathing and reducing the steroids. I know how hard that can be!. You really do need help from the respiratory team. Fingers crossed you hear soon. Xx
