Excessive mucus, sinus and everything else! 😭

Hi everyone not been on here for a while. Too busy trying to stay alive after my working week! ( that's how I feel). I work 4 days a week 30 hours in total. I'm lucky that my job starts at 11am so I have time to sort my self out when I wake up feeling ill as I've been doing most mornings. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have sinus issues and lots of excessive mucus which just doesn't seem to dissappear. I've been on antibiotics and they didn't even work. The doctor has prescribed me a nasal spray which i have to try for a month. I have a headache everyday and end up taking pain killers. I've done the usual steaming, irrigation etc. On top of that I just feel jittery and slightly unbalanced all the time. Its so difficult to know how to pace yourself. I do try and exercise and sometimes I'm ok but nowadays after I exercise I feel even worse. All I want to do is curl up in a corner and hide. I know I won't be able to sleep. Mindfulness has been helping a little to make me feel relaxed. Sorry i could go on and on at the moment. Does anyone else suffer sinus issues or have any of these awful symptoms and can give me advice?

Hi. Yes I have Sinus problems a lot of the time and apart from what I call the Face Ache it can also cause a lose or balance and I can suddenly stagger as if I've been drinking, I wish 🤣.

If there is a infection it can affect the inner ear hence the off balance sensation.

I have to have a steroid nasal spray and if no difference in 24 hours a course of Prednisolone because I have lung problems and the dr's worry about the infection getting into the lungs and causing a more serious problem.

If you are on the Steroid nasal spray and it's not working for you contact your doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks! I'm also thinking about the whole TMJ situation too. As I do suffer from TMJ and have to wear a mouth guard. This can also affect the sinuses.

Hi heda123.

Sorry you are feeling so rotten. 😌 And no wonder you’re tired ,working takes some doing when not 100%.

I have very much the same issues. Still in the ‘system’ awaiting ENT appointment.

Dizzy spells def... headaches most mornings . Not able to drive, and even feel dizzy as a passenger- and when I get out of the car, like I’ve just stepped off a boat.

I have Mometasone Furoate steroid nasal spray - it does the job mostly but tends cause the nasal passages to become too dry if used every day! There are a number of nasal sprays to try so if the one you are using doesn’t suit perhaps ask GP if you can try a different one. Apologies if you have already tried this numerous times. Also, my GP prescribed travel sickness pills for the dizziness -and antihistamines for any allergies that could be causing post nasal drip. I find mine can be aggravated if I eat anything that creates excessive mucus, such as dairy.

Windy weather also affects my sinuses sometimes.

I would have another chat to your GP if you’re getting no joy .

Best of wishes-and I hope you find some relief very soon.

💐x

I'm trying to cut dairy out but I keep forgetting, I've cut bananas out because I know I get mucus from them. I'll check in with the gp again next week. Sometimes I feel like leaving work but I think I might be worse off staying at home. When I get to work I forget everything for a few hours but does hit me worse when I get home. Its hard to find that balance.

It is difficult to know what to do for the best regarding work. I understand how you feel about being home all the time and focussing on health related matters more. Are you able to take time off and try to recover a little? Give your body time to catch up? Especially if you are arriving home and feeling the way you described. Time for a little TLC, perhaps?

Hopefully your GP will have some suggestions for you. Finger's crossed here.

Hi.

I had exactly the same issues for about 3 years. Finally i went to a homeopath for an intolerance test. He diagnosed me with histamine intolerance. i went on a low histamine diet (i followed the Healing Histamine diet) and i take one over the counter antihistamine. This got rid of the problem finally. The headaches, conjestion, sinus pain, dizziness all went. I have to stick to my diet religiously otherwise it all comes back straight away but it has worked. I also dropped down to working 3 days a week. I have other issues now with MCTD and fatigue but thats a different story! I hope you feel better. X

It's so scary following a strict diet like that. I will try my best!

Hey I’m sorry I’ve not had those symptoms but I do practice light yoga when I’m not well so it’s not too much for my body. YouTube has tonnes of good yoga practice to help you relax and recenter. Also you can get easy breathe oils which you can put in an oil diffuser. That may help too

Thanks. Yes every other day I'll do some yoga too and I've started meditating a bit too.
