Has anyone ever hurt real bad and they're right side and kidney area after eating huge amounts of candy chocolate peanut butter M&M's to be exact LOL ! I ate two family size bags of this stuff yesterday and I have been hurting so bad I'm fixing to go to ER. But I think my lupus always acts up with joint pain and stuff when I have too much candy this time this is so painful I can't even think about my joints

I cant really comment on candy but what I would say is I've stopped drinking cola because it makes me feel dreadful.i have lupus nephritis and carbonated drinks arnt good for kidneys.if it is the candy I'd of though it would settle in a few days.when my joints flare due to the sun they settle after a couple of days indoors x

Thank you for the reply. You know I know so much stuff about other medical conditions especially if my friends are family are suffering from it. But I myself have lupus. I know nothing about it. It sounds stupid and strange but I love other people I guess more than I love myself otherwise I would put more time into researching. And I would also probably take better care of myself if I knew what it was and I'm sure people can die from this right?

Yes! Sugar is really not my friend any more. It escalates my pain and keeps me awake at night. I used to have such a sweet tooth but now the payback just isn’t worth it. I have to remind myself of that when I get my monthly chocolate cravings! 🍫

I'm sorry I haven't responded Auntie my best to clear out most of my emails because they are nothing. So I don't really get a chance to come on this forum. But I'm very glad you responded. As I sit here in dire pain knowing that I've had cheesecake and chocolate in the last week! I don't eat three bags of candy or even two bags of candy anymore.. ..... just wondering have you had permanent damage from the candy or the colas you were speaking of? I drink A&W root beer with my husband and he has ESRD! He was told it is natural and that it was safe for him! What do you think?

Could be your gallbladder.

If your kidney and lower back is hurting then you may have a UTI. Sugar definitely helps aggrevate one of those so it was just the first thing that popped into my head. I'm not sure if you have any other symptoms.

In terms of lupus, kidney involvement doesn't generally cause any pain (and often no symptoms at all) so it's unlikely to be that. In general, sugar does not affect my lupus personally but if anything does (like the weather etc) I normally feel it in my major joints.

If you are in a lot of pain and its not in a usual place for you, then definitely get it checked out.

All the best.

I did go to the ER last night and they ran a battery of tests they don't see anything. Then I remember I moved a heart of a washing machine but I used a shovel and then you know what do my best to slide it up and over to get it out of my way Paradigm may have pulled a muscle that way but I can't see me hurting myself and not knowing it because I know it

Thank you I did but I'm like on my 12th day of pain. And er said they couldn't find anything but I did move a washing machine around a little bit but didn't feel like it was hurting anything or I wouldn't have done it. Maybe I just didn't realize it at the time
