Hi, I have MCTD probable Lupus and Sjorgens. All the usual fatigue, joint pain etc. I was wandering if anyone can tell me if the problems shown in the photos are connected with any of the above. My doctor says the pigmentation is Melasmia (Chloasma) and the red spots are old age!! They are on various bits of my body, look like blood blisters, but don't bleed or burst. The brown pigmentation is on both my arms and neck under my chin. I had awful urticaria for about 5 years, but since being on hydroxychloroquine it has cleared.

Hi Pinky, sorry I have nothing useful to say . I have lots of these red spots on various parts of my body too. My GP said they were moles?? and nothing to worry about. The bottom of my legs and my feet are extremely discoloured which they say is due to obesity. I hope someone here can give you some advice and info xx

Hi Pinky! Definitely agree with melasma diagnosis. You could try skin lightening creams if it bothers you, but wearing sun protection is most beneficial.

The tiny red spots are probably cherry angiomas. They do increase with age but I’ve noticed more of them since SLE diagnosis as well. They’ve subsided in number while being treated. I wouldn’t worry about them too much.

Hope this helps and you’re doing okay otherwise. ❤️ xx

Hi.cherry aginomas are harmless collections of blood vessels and are best left alone.ive had one on the inside of my upper arm for many years .I catch it occasionally with a finger nail putting tops on but just put a plaster on it until it heals up.its never changed size shape or colour in over 35 years so I dont worry about it xx

That's called cherry angiomas and they become more prevalent with age. Has nothing to do with your MCTD

Hi I had loads of these all over my body, my legs but had them all removed by a lovely lady who is a trained health practitioner who zapped them off, it was virtually painless and only took 15 minutes to zap probably about 25 of them - they have not come back and am delighted 😀
