the only pharmacy in town that supplies zentiva hydroxy will not deliver medicines to me. others that will deliver say they are unable to get zentiva because their suppliers will not stock it. I feel they are pushing me in to going into town to collect my medicines regardless of my medical condition and worries about going out. I have driven through town and there is no obvious signs of distancing or masks being worn. simply put I do not feel safe going into town. online pharmacies do not in general cover scotland and those that do will charge me english prescription charges. I have spent today contacting GP surgery, pharmacies, volunteer groups, the local council and even social services and the best they can come up with is to send a taxi for them. I don't have the money for taxis. don't expect any of you to have a solution but I just needed a rant. thanks.

They stopped my meds delivery 2 weeks before shielding ended and I got a phone call saying I'd have to pick them up myself or send someone for them.i hadnt been in a shop at all so wasnt happy.i worn full ppe... visor,mask and gloves and in all honesty it was ok .there was only one other person in the chemist.you could ring before hand to make sure its ready so you dont have to wait when you get there.another option is by post x
they refused to post. my main concern is the car park is a long way from the pharmacy and if no one is keeping their distance how can I safely get from there to the pharmacy. feel like I need a sandwich board with keep your distance written on it.
Who is refusing to post...the chemist ? There are other postal prescription services available like pharmacy2u.your gp sends them your script and they post it out to you free of charge i think.im extremely clinically vunerable but I've had to make a move outdoors as I've had to collect a script from my consultant at the hospital pharmacy and continue to go to my gp to have dmards bloods done every month.all you can do is full ppe.i have a box in the car with masks,face shields,gloves,sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.have you asked them if they could bring it to the door ? also crossing the car park is outdoors where the risk is lower
I know its daunting.im as high risk as you can get as I take immunosuppressants and have breathing problems as the lupus has damaged my lungs. I'm not going out into the shops as I used before cv19 I'm only going out when it's really really necessary and I'm sure if I can do it you can do it xxxx
P s I've got to collect this months script next week but I'm not as anxious about it as I was last time big hug x
you're very brave. I have looked at the online pharmacies and although they will deliver here in scotland they charge english prescription charges. I drove through my town a couple of weeks back just to see how things were and there was no social distancing, no masks to be seen anywhere. the shops are not enforcing the masks in doors, it's as if nothing has happened here and we are so close to aberdeen where there is an outbreak with people from here commuting for work we could so easily be next.
Sorry i dont know what else to suggest...i dont particularly see it as brave I had to deal with some anxiety to do it but I hibernate in winter and feel if I dont go out now its going to be a long winter with the pos6of having to stay indoors till this time next year depending on what happens with cv x
Hello Suzannah, I am part of an app called 'nextdoor'. I wonder if any neighbour is willing? At the moment we go out to parks in London with social distancing. Noone follows it but I felt it was time to go out and be very very careful. Most of the time we are at home anyway. My daughter has the heart and kidney issues related to UCTD and I have SLE.. as long as you wear a mask, cover yourself, wash your hands, nose and mouth well, it will reduce the risk of the virus, wear glasses if you can. I even went to the pharmacy to buy medication. The infection rate is the lowest at the moment. I wonder if you could ask your GP to give you more supplies to reduce the risk and ask a neighbour through the app? Or ask a neighbour or tell pharmacist that if they know someone? Or a friend? I am in a rural area with only one neighbour who is also shielding so I wouldn't ask him to endanger himself. My Gp has been unavailable to all except covid cases and medical emergencies since lockdown started so effectively I have had no GP for 6 months. The pharmacists have not been helpful at all with the only suggestion being get a taxi to collect them which would cost at least £20 a time and I can't afford that everymonth. I see reports from "healthy" people complaining that very few people in town are wearing masks or distancing themselves and if they feel unsafe then I really do not want to riskgoing in to town my self. we are fairly close to aberdeen where there is an outbreak and a lot of people from here commute to aberdeen daily for work. what worries me is the aberdeen track and trace has been unable to track 200 people who may have the virus and it would only take one of those to live in my area to cause another outbreak here.
Would your GP prescribe for longer periods of time if your meds are on repeat? Mine has always routinely prescribed in two month blocks to save everyone the time. I don't know what the rules are for whether it could be for even longer but this would at least halve the cost.
hi, apart from not being able to contact my GP since february all my meds except one are 2 months supply but for some reason one of them I only get 28 at a time. 
Her in US you can do curbside pickup of you prescriptions at most pharmacies - you order it and pay online/phone with credit card and if they walk out (we are in a mandated mask wearing state) to you car you should be totally safe even if they are not wearing a mask (you can) - very safe I believe because outside and very brief- good luck

thank you that is a kind offer but I would feel bad about taking money when technically I am able to go out myself. I have arranged to get prescriptions sent to a branch of the same pharmacy but in a quieter area of town which hopefully will be safer to get to. thanks again
