returning to work uncertainty

Hi all I hope that you are all well today. I have a quick question for the group. I was told to shield and am still doing so. However I am looking forward to getting back to my work as an Holistic Therapist.

My issue is that I will only be working from my treatment room at home. I have all PPE and cleaning protocols in place and ready to get going again. I will also only be booking 30 minute appointments. My issue is can I actually do this as I am not sure what would be a safe number of clients allowed onto the premises over say 3 days? Clients are seen on a 1:1 basis but would I only be allowed to have the same 6 people over the coming weeks?

I cannot get any clear answers from my Dr or governing body. Part of me wonders if I should play it safe and wait until we have further advice from the Government.

Sorry for the ramble.

Well surely it can be the same as hairdressers etc they are seeing different people everyday and for similar time frames as u will be and sometimes even longer??

Surely there must be some sort of guidelines are u on Twitter my friend said that u can contact the Gov and ask questions??

X good luck

Hi Sara, thank you for your reply. There are guidelines for returning to work, what PPE and hygiene protocols to follow. I just do not seem to be able to get an answer regarding how many, if any, clients I can have coming into my home over say a week.

I will have another look on the governments website maybe it has been updated.

Namaste

Hi Mala23 ,

I believe that the guidance for people Holistic Therapists, including those operating from a home premises is here - gov.uk/guidance/working-saf...

You are restricted to how many clients you could have in the property at one time, but I do not believe there is a restriction about the households they come from. Taking measures such as cleaning, ventilation and use of PPE should mitigate the risk.

Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to reply. I found the relevant information yesterday.

I was more concerned about restrictions on the amount of people allowed in to my house throughout the day as I am still shielding at present I was worried that I would be expected to go from hardly any contact with anybody outside my home to normal working hours after August the 1st. I guess it is just working with what feels comfortable and right. I think that I will have to restrict the amount of appointments I book per week for now.

Thanks again. Namaste
