Hi, I have been on methotrexate since January. I take it on a Wednesday and take folic acid twice a week - on a Monday and Friday. I found initially I had fatigue within 24/48 hours. It has taken months but I have seen an improvement in joint pain and get less burning malar rashes. I do still get flares if I over do it. I hope you have some luck with it too.
Hi-I have been taking methotrexate for 6 years. I take 8 on a Tuesday morning, and folic acid every day except for Tuesday. At first I really didn't feel good after taking them, but now I am fine with them, they are part of me, my disease and I wouldn't do without them, once in my system they made an incredible difference to my MCTD, RA and SLE. Hope it does the trick for you
I have been on Methotrexate and folic acid for about 2 years now for my Lupus. I was told by my consultant to take the folic acid the day before you take Metho not the other way around. The Metho gave me terrible bowel problems for months when I started but was told this had nothing to do with the metho. also my hair started to get really thin on top so they doubled the folic and this seems to help. I take my metho near to a weekend in case of bowel probs.
