I've just found out how to post photos so here are Mr & Mrs Duck posing by the pond. I like to think they're being friendly and liking my garden but as they come to the back door and quack when they're hungry, food is obviously their prime motivation!

Super pic! Great to see so much bird life flourishing on HU!

All living things prefer a full stomach.

They must think you can be trusted or they would seek food elsewhere.

I have a couple of seagulls who come and knock on my patio doors to ask for food. I’ve never fed them but they clearly think that is what I’m here for!

Fabulous photo. I love ducks, they are motivated by food but any chance of interaction is a blessing 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

t's great to have them visit, although I've just shooed them out of the pond as they were busily ripping out the new plants I put in yesterday!

Oops. When my husband and I were both working in Hereford everyday as we pulled into the car park there was a lovely white duck with a yellow bill who would rush towards us. We started feeding him and sure enough he brought friends. He would come really close and very vocal. One day my husband who worked in a different building left to go to his place of work and the duck followed him. I went into my office just as the receptionist was screaming. A car hit him hard decapitating him them reversed back and picked up his body and put it in the car. I am relieved I did not see it myself but I felt really distressed Most of my work mates were quite dismissive. The other ducks never returned. I think they are so underestimated in terms of intelligence and the capacity to learn whether it is motivated by food it was a delightful time.🦆🦆🦆

You have to go on "home" then "What's your question", then the "post" tab. There's a button to add a photo on there. Good luck!
