Hope you’re keeping well at this precarious time. Do any of you use Boots/ Lloyd’s or some other big commercial pharmacy to deliver your drugs to you at this difficult time? I’m thinking of switching because my small pharmacy doesn’t have enough volunteers. Please let me know your experiences.
Many thanks x

I use Lloyds but they are using an army of local volunteers to deliver med in our community. Even the local taxi company are doing free prescription runs.
If you struggle have a word with your council and they will probably be able to put you in touch with a voluntary organisation that might be able to help you.
There is now supposed to be a direct line to call to tap into the 600,000 strong NHS volunteer programme - it was mentioned on Sky News this morning and there is an article here:
Thank you so much for sending this telephone number. I called it yesterday and today a volunteer is just about to bring my drugs round! I’m just so humbled. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I'm so pleased it works! I posted it on my home forum because of the number of whinges about not being able to get online home delivery slots - not one person has registered they have seen it!
My GP surgery had its own pharmacy so my drugs are dispensed there. My husband dropped my script off last week and he’ll pick up my drugs tomorrow. They don’t do deliveries.
My mum is vulnerable and self isolating, in the same area as me. She uses the local Boots and since the lock down they’ve delivered her drugs to her door.
She phoned them to give them a weeks notice and then they drop her medications off.
I can’t use Boots as they never seem to be able to get the brand of Hydroxychloroquine that I prefer.
It would make life much easier if we could all get them delivered, wouldn’t it.
Have you tried telephoning your county council or local town council to ask about volunteers to help you out? I know many are volunteering here, they want to help and it gives them something to keep them busy during lock down, when they aren’t able to do their normal jobs. Just a thought.
Thank you everyone for your responses. The prob is now solved ! A volunteer service have put me in touch with a volunteer who is on his way to my chemist right now! Thank you so much PMR Pro for suggesting the service and the telephone number. I’m so humbled that there are people who want to help. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
