Anyone with lupus had Covid-19 yet?

There seems to be some contradictory info in the Press about whether we are most at risk from severe case, or protected by hydroxy chloroquine. I just wondered if anyone with lupus has first hand experience of the illness? Best wishes to you all x

Everyone with lupus will be at a different stage of their disease. Also whether it is under control or active.

By the nature of this we may be more able to resist the worst of it or not.

Best thing to do is to eat well, get plenty or rest, try not to stress and wash your hands regularly. In addition to isolating as far as you can.

Hi Susuwoo ,

We do not have sufficient evidence at the moment to suggest that hydroxychloroquine will fully protect people from contracting the virus at the doses taken by people with lupus. As such, it is recommended that everyone with lupus self-isolate for 12 weeks. Hopefully we won't hear of any cases where people with lupus have dangerous complications from the virus because of these precautions.
