December already !

Hey,

I’m not quite sure how we got to December already.

I’ve had a crappy few weeks recently. I had tonsillitis for 2 weeks recently. Then I had a sickness bug.

So I’ve been off work for a bit last couple of weeks.

The most annoying part is going to be the sick pay I lose from my wages.

I absolutely love my job working it the school. The only downside is you don’t get paid for the first 2 days of sick. I’m looking at 6 days no pay in totally because of the way my sickness happened.

I’ve also not taken my hydroxy for over 3 weeks since I had the tonsillitis. Which I know is so stupid of me. I always think starting mid week again will make me feel sicker. I am currently feeling sick everyday in the mornings and through out. I’ve had it before in the past when I’ve felt like that. I have my appointment at guys on Tuesday. So I’m sure the Dr will tell me to get back on the hydroxy. I’m thinking about asking to take one tablet a day again and then maybe 2. To be honest it’s probably a head game problem for me now ! Does anyone know how long it takes for the benefits of the hydroxy to leave your system when your taking it? I actually do think it has helped especially with hair loss.

I’ve got one week left at work and then it’s the Christmas holidays. I’m looking forward to sleeping !!!

LouLamb, very sorry. Horrible time of the year to lose pay. But I bet in a few weeks you won’t even notice (? I hope?) I’m just hoping you feel well very soon🙏 Merry Christmas to you!

I’ve saved money on petrol because I hadn’t been able to go anywhere 😂

There won't be any deductions of tax and NI to go off what you didn't get either! (If you see what I mean)

I’ll pay less because of less money earned. I’ll also pay less into my county pension as well. It’s shame because the job I do you make peanuts of a wage. Then most of the time when your off sick it’s because parents send their ill child into school !

Same in the NHS - not healthy being around all those sick people

But doesn't the statutory sick pay cover the deduction?

So I had a week off with tonsillitis. I lost the first 2 days and the got paid for the next 3 as I had to self certified. I then went to Drs and got a sick note for my 2nd week off. I went back to work the next week and had a day off because I felt sick. Then I had 2 days of this week just gone because I was sick.

You just don’t get paid for the first 2 days off no matter what. Because of the way I felt sick I’ve ended up going into work then the next day I was off and it re starts your 2 days no paid .
