Does anyone out there suffer from pains in the bones in the top and around the ankles of their feet, also wrists and hands, sometimes picking a cup up can course pain to shoot to both hands and wrists. If so what is it, can I do anything about it.

What you describe sounds as if it might be tendonitis - it can cause that sort of pain with that sort of action.

Thank you, will book a doctor's appointment, this feels more like bone pain than tendons

Hi D, sounds like what I get too. My Dr decided it was Fibromyalgia, common with Lupus and put me on low dose pregabalin. It's only been a few months, but I think it's taking some of the edge off the pains in my tendons. It usually helps me sleep as well.

Yes, I have it in my ankles and wrists. It feels like it’s the bone and it’s horrible. It is tendonitis. I wear elasticated gloves and now I have athletic tape for the hands and wrists. I have been told to go to a podiatrist for the ankles but I have to pay so not happening at the moment. Hot n cold baths reduce inflammation and pain in hands.

Hi Doey! I’ll second Hamptons. I get tendinitis after repetitive use and sometimes after nothing at all. Sometimes it gets so bad, I get friction rubs. Feels and sounds like tight stretching rubber bands right over where hand meets wrist or foot meets leg. Any weight bearing causes pain. I would wear wrist braces for about a week or two to limit lateral motion. I’ve also had it in Achilles’ tendon and had to wait it out. Surprisingly, I haven’t had it too often since being on Plaquenil.

Hi I get this too. The pain in my ankles radiating down my feet was so bad I saw a podiatrist who gave me orthotics and told me to wear sensible shoes with a sturdy sole. It did not help at all. My GP said I had carpal tunnel syndrome and sent me for nerve conductor tests. They were inconclusive. The pain in my hands makes me drop things . I went to a Chiropractor out of sheer desperation. I was not expecting much to be honest. He put a thrust down into my foot. A very large crack and my ankle pain disappeared. My wrist pain has proved harder to deal with but I have acupuncture and take Garbapentin at night. I hope that your GP is more helpful. Good luck
