I was just wondering if anyone ever has issues with their laryx. Ive always suffered with sore throats but ive had laryngitis twice in a year, having never had it before, this latest episode has come out of nowhere and I can hardly make any sound.
Thanks

Hi yes I also lost my voice and had trouble swallowing. I was referred to the ENT at the hospital had the tube down my nose not painful at all and watched everything on a monitor turned out it was silent reflux I was put on 30mg lansoprazole twice daily and 150 ranadine at night which sorted it out. I still take the lansoprazole but have stopped the ranadine due to it being recalled so instead I have started to take some ginger gems and it does the trick so far so good.
Hi Luppylou, I have Sjögren’s, Lupus and R.A. for four years now and this year I suffer with voice loss where people ask me if I have a cold 😊 I also have inflammatory lung disease secondary to Sjögren’s and asked the respiratory specialist in June about my voice and he thought it might be ‘seasonal’ 😐 Umm....all year by the looks of things xx
My doctor has put me on steroids (which is normal practice in Switzerland it seems) so I can now produce a useful sound. Sounds like it’s something that affects quite a few. Wishing you all flare free times very soon. Thanks for the advice!
