Am I weird, or what? I try to find the positive in things to keep my attitude happy and not bring those around me down. One of the positives about this ‘fun’ disease is, no one questions me hanging out in my pjs all day. 😆 If i’m having a rough, or fatigued day, no one questions my need to stay in my comfy pajamas all day long (in my house only, of course!) Now that the weather here went from 100+* to suddenly Fall (been in the upper 60* the last few days-that’s Fahrenheit) jammies and warm fuzzy socks are a must! A little cooler and a cup of cocoa (made with coconut milk) and the fireplace going will be an extra comfort. And, another nice thing about pjs all day is it tells everyone how I am feeling for the day without words. They understand.
Hi, I often have pajama days and sometimes what I call comfies, layers of loose clothing that I wouldn't go out in. Layers because I can go from normal to very hot to cold at the drop of a hat, loosely with no tight waistband so I can curl up or stretch out to be as comfortable as possible.
Amen. And I have a vast collection of ‘yoga’ pants for when I do go out. Warm, snuggly yoga pants with sweaters or a flannel shirt, no bra. Bras cut across my shoulder blades. My right shoulder blade has horrible inflammation and a suspicious, permanent bruise, and bras feel like torture devices (I’m so sorry to any males reading this. I’m not trying to be crude).
Yes I agree bra's are a torture device as I have a almost permanent rash on my back and also have respiratory problems and at times it can feel like someone has put a vice around my chest and slowly tightening it. Good thing I'm not a big girl so to speak. Sorry to any men reading this as you don't have much idea unless you have a similar problem somewhere else.
Krazykat26 Ha, ha, my ‘bad boys’ are more like toddlers. Sometimes a sports bra when going out is good enough, and sometimes it’s the baggy shirt or sweatshirt. Fall and winter are the best because I can get away with that. Summers in California, not so much. T-shirts definitely require the torture device. 😊
Ha, ha, I was being facetious in using the term ‘fun’. 🙃
Dear Brooksidecourt, I am totally with you - I have a selection of loose, breathable outfits for everyday. I am a big fan of one size up and of natural fibres and soft layers. My other comfort is a large furry rug. Very important when dealing with soreness, pain and acute stiffness!! Good post about the reality of living with lupus, thank you...very best regards, Lily
Love that you posted one of my favorite comforts! I just celebrated a birthday and with the weather in the 50’s ( F) and rainy spent a delightful day in my pjs. When people asked how I celebrated the day shared about jammy day and the response was ... delightful. Did not mention that any day without an appointment is jammy day 😆!
Ebaymama: You lucky girl. I turned 61 last June. I’ve always said, 40’s are fun, 50’s are fabulous, and 60’s suck! (Sorry about my language😱) My perspective😁
I'm reading this sat in my PJs or 'sloggis' n my big cosy dressing gown..having a chuckle at how things r with us!!
All of my days r pj days n I only get dressed when I have appointments to go to..but I have to confess...between u n me that I have actually gone to early appts wearing my PJs under my clothes!! Sssshhhhh!! 🤫
What a wonderful post..thanks..it feels good to know that others here r wierd!! It's what keeps us sane!!
I just mean all the make up, and styling the hair. That kind of thing I can do without if i’m not leaving the house. Let the postman leave it at the door (so I don’t scare anyone)
That’s me on a Sunday jamas all day even when I make a Sunday dinner
Oh, and besides the yoga pants, joggers, flannels, sweaters, etc., I went to a uniform supply store and bought some scrubs. They are also comfy, and the tops can go nicely with yoga pants or joggers. Lots of pockets for my phone and such so I don’t even need to lug around a purse if I don’t want to. The one problem however, cashiers keep asking me if I just got off work and how my day was. Apparently they think I work in the medical field? 🤷🏻♀️
