Hi all
I'm so grateful for this community and your helpful support. I wanted to share something that is helping me understand all my symptoms, medications etc. I find it hard to remember everything from day to day, let alone what has been going on when I need to report to the doctor. I use an app called updoc. Do any of you use it, or something similar? I record all my medications (helps remind me if I forgot to take something too), things like fevers and weight, and all my symptoms. It is flexible in that you can adjust all the categories adding your own symptoms as needed. Sometimes looking back i can see that something i thought was significant disappeared quite quickly, but other things actually occurred more often than i realised. It's with me on my phone so anytime i actually notice anything i can quickly make a note. I do record how much sleep and exercise i get on a separate app. I then make a table for the doctor of how things have been going (improved, same, worse). She always says how helpful it is for her and we can get much quicker to the important issues that need more discussion.
Lupus is such a complex disease affecting so many of our body systems that it's hard for us, and hard for our doctors, to track and manage. I hate dwelling on my symptoms too as it's negative and I want to focus on the positive. I do find that using the app makes the process quick and I don't have to overthink it. I can just review the patterns when I need to.
Hope this might help some of you too!
