IVIG?
Hi nanno ,
There is a global shortage of human immunoglobulin, partly due to the rapidly increasing range of clinical indications for treatment using immunoglobulins. We have a Demand Management programme in the UK. Further information can be found at ivig.nhs.uk and Clinical Guidelines for Immunoglobulin Use, gov.uk/dh
Thank You for responding.
Hello nanno...am sorry i wasn’t here to respond to your post sooner, but was recovering from spine surgery.
I have IVIG here in the UK every 3 weeks thanks to immunology prescribing thus long term for my Primary Immunodeficiency. We have 2 excellent officially endorsed UK PID support groups which keep us up to date on the situation re Immunologulin G supply (both for IV and subcutaneous IgG replacement therapies) and so far the statements all assure us that the NHS is making certain our UK IgG supplies never run short. On my UK PID forums, i have read UK subcut igG patients saying their brand has been switched due to shortages, but they always are given a substitue brand.
I hope your IVIG shortage is sorted out asap. Please let us know how you get on ❤️🍀❤️🍀 Coco
