Hello sun avoiders. I’m sitting in the house surfing the web while the sun beats down outside. I’ve just come across an article on Child’s Farm products which seem to get very good reviews for skin complaints. As I’m in the middle of a SCLE flare this interests me and I wondered if anyone on the site has heard of or tried their products. I’m very wary of trying new products but this sounds worth a try. Comments please.

Child’s Farm Products

Hi I have not tried them but a lot of people on the Sjogren's FB page have and love the brand.
I guess like me and many others you are left to find things for yourself. I had real problems with the dry mouth and my dentist is not very good at advising me about products for very dry mouth and normal oral hygiene products just burnt my mouth making it very sore.
Finally by trawling the net I came across Biotene products for dry mouth sufferers. Oh the relief of brushing and rinsing and no burn and it's helping with the dryness in the day.
X
Thanks for your help. I have Sjogrens too so will give the Child’s Farm moisturiser a try.
I liked Biotene mouth wash - but they changed the formula and not so mild on my mouth now, but still use. Tried to explain to dentist that lots of toothpastes and mouth washes are impossible to use. Been using a mild fennel toothpaste with no fluoride for a bit but dentist wants me to use sensitive, fluoride toothpaste
It's amazing how many dentists are unhelpful and don't know what to do with people who have very dry mouth and the problems it can cause.
Mine kept telling me to use sensodine and looked at me like I was crazy when I told them that it along with all the rest burns my mouth and was really painful.
When I told her about Biotene the response was, Oh well you finally found it. Yes I found it no thanks to her.
I do get some stinging at times but that's to be expected when the sore spots pop up as that's part of the symptoms I have.
Good luck. X
Hi, I use Childs Farm baby moisturiser as a light moisture for my face before the usual factor 50. I find it soothing and hasn't caused me any problems so far. I have lupus and also rosacea so always wary of new products. PS is relatively cheap compared to 'beauty' products!
Friend used them for exzema and found it really beneficial
I've not tried; but been through quite a few spf50's and settled on La Roche Posay 50+ uva & uvb protection anthelios non-perfumed. It doesn't make my eyes sore and is not sticky.
Several friends have tried to persuade me I need mineral sunscreens titanium dioxide and zinc oxide but have yet to find one that isn't sticky - I cover my face outdoors with a Buff or UV protection cotton scarf, and sticky just makes a mess! It's an expensive business trying to find the right one!
At the moment keeping lights off and limit time on bright screen of laptop so as to avoid wearing anything indoors.
