Came home from Benidorm on Monday. I didn’t get to my bed until 10pm. Then was up at half 7 for work 😑
I felt amazing when I was away no pains and I could play with my little cousins. Felt like my old self again . I had the same reaction in Lanzarote 2 years ago. The heat seems to definitely help me. I only ended up with a very dry scalp now I’m home apart from that no other sun reactions.
I’m now in pain back home because of the weather. I came home early from work today as I’ve got a bit of a cold and my back hurts. Im not going in tomorrow so just lots of meds and sleep for me.
Now to look forward to my August caravan holiday in Clacton .
We are booking Benidorm again for next Feb half term for 9 nights this time 🙂

It was nice Monday when we landed so think that did help a bit. I didn’t come back to freezing temperatures. The temp here is not like Benidorm . We had 16-18 most days and even had 25 on the Saturday !
That's great. Your post is good news because I was only diagnosed with SLE last year and my concern was what to do about holidays i.e. lupus v sun. I really enjoy visiting warm sunny climates but three weeks in the Caribbean last year was followed by a lupus diagnosis after my health took a nose dive on my return. The other interesting information in your post was your cold and back pain. I've had two really bad viral infections since my diagnosis and after each I've had back pain. Mid back pain for two weeks following the first and pain in the base of my neck and down my shoulder after the second this is still troubling me six weeks on (but I perhaps its aggravated an old whiplash injury?). I don't know if this is normal? I'm a bit anxious because each viral infection and spinal pain seems worse than the one before????? Wishing you a speedy recovery from you cold. Hopefully we've not got too long to wait for fine weather.
Hi LouLamb I’m currently in Spain at the moment and I’m better in the sun lm here until end of May. I was here Oct Nov Dec last year and felt fine when l got home to Kent l felt poorly right up until my return here. I walk 2 to 3 miles here in Kent I struggle. I’m 68 and retired so it’s easier for me to get away. Enjoy your next trip x
I’m exactly the same we had a week in Tenerife end of January and after 24hrs there I’m pain free, it feels like most of the inflammation has gone. winter sun makes such a difference UK weather just doesn’t help my Lupus, my husband is going part time from June for a couple of years then we’re looking at getting a boat in a warmer climate that we can spend longer periods at over the winters, here’s hoping we have a good summer again xx
I hope you had a wonderful time away LouLamb - never been to Beni myself but always wanted to go. The picture looks divine.
I find even here when the weather begins to heat up and the sun is shining constantly through summer (where I am we get quite hot summers) it has the same effect. I’ve been struggling a lot with mental health issues and feelings of low self worth and self harm/suicide but the moment the sun came out a week ago it’s as if my problems all went away. Very odd, but I’m not complaining as it were!
I really hope you get better soon my lovely, take lots of rest and cuppa’s and have dream of your time in Benidorm. Take care chicky 💖🌟
