Hiya! I've been diagnosed with Lupus with Nephritis about a year ago and I've been on steroids since then though the dose varies now. My physician told me that judging on my blood result, look's like I'm on remission. The thing that bugs me now is that can you still get fatigue and very mild stiffness even though you're on remission (lab tests are normal). Am I really on remission though?

Hi there. I have been in remission for a while now but still get bouts of fatigue & dizziness. I thought it was my iron levels but I’ve been told that tested fine. They did increase my calcium at the last appointment which was low, that seemed to help for a while but feeling it again this week and I’m still on the higher calcium still. Maybe we are in remission but these are side effects of the meds we have to continue taking. Hopefully a blood test will get you some help 🤞🏼
I have had fatigue since before my lupus diagnosis. It may vary in intensity but it is always there in the background. My life revolves around the need to take a rest. Sometimes it's just enough to put my legs up. But often the eyelids close as well 😀
Remmison is a term the doctors use for SLE to basically mean that the diesease is at an acceptable level of control. Meaning bloods are in normal range (for you) and symptoms are at a minimum. This does sadly mean that mild symptoms such as fatigue and joint ache can lingure, these need to be treated with rest and maybe some light stretching/ exercise. If they are persistent I would bring it up at your next appointment as it may indicate a change needed in medication or treatment. Remission just means a rest and not stopped as much as I would love lupus to just stop!
