This was the other day, and she made me feel like a blood test seeker although I clearly had an appt on the system for a test that day.
As I put my coat on, saying the accusations made it all a waste of time, she decided we "might as well".
This morning I get a text from the surgery to go back for further tests. I can see a number of anomalies in the results. II will definitely draw her name to attention. If I get her again I shall repeat over and over "But you asked what I needed a blood test for last time "

Thank you. I needed that! Between the eye drops, as well as meds and all the appts I'm feeling truly madly deeply lonely. Sometimes, just sometimes, another human in the house would help xx
Well, you know, a sighthound can do just about everything but putting arms around you...a word in his ear will be a lick on the nose, and sometimes that's more comforting than words. Snuggle up tight tonight, and remember you're never alone XOX 😚
PS and if you wake in the night, maybe, just maybe, there will be someone here 😑 xxx
Aww hugs from me in Scotland LK. I hope it’s nothing too serious with your bloods.
I haven’t been treated quite like you describe but last bloods appointment did provoke a query of “so who requested these bloods?” - reply “I did - I want to exclude Diabetes and get my thyroid bloods done as it’s been over a year”.
She stared hard at me - looked at the screen and then saw my GP had sent me for CRP and blood sugar and I had added thyroid to make them look vaguely competent.
I nearly asked for FBC so as to find out how my liver has responded to 3 months on high dose pain meds - but then decided that would be pushing my luck.
Then I asked about the flu jab and was required to find my text saying I was eligible. Flip it’s like going through check in on route to somewhere exotic!? Managed that and got jabbed unexpectedly - meanwhile she said she couldn’t think why I’d need a flu jab .. “ah yes I see you’ve had pancreatitis.. maybe it’s that?”.
I was going to say something acerbic when she looked down and said “oh I love your shiny boots... where did you get them?” And the moment for being a sarcastic ice queen went.. foiled.
CRP was raised at 19 but GP just said this is my normal. Hmm I don’t think so - normal is 0-5 and I’m not that freaky?!
My old island GPs just took blood as and when they wanted it. Much easier although the practice nurses always loved it when I showed the GP bruises!
Hope your eye pain eases up soon (if it’s consoling to know- I’ve just dropped 3 times in one night just from pain of Sjögren’s) and the feeling of loneliness abates soon. You aren’t really alone as you’ve got us crowd of friends here all holding your hand. Xx
Thinking good thoughts for you along with prayers and hugs. Don't ever forget you are always surrounded by all of us and we are here at the touch of your text. We might not be able to physically hug you, but we sure do understand what you are going through and can sometimes bring a smile to your face. Take care ❤
