Something for you to hopefully enjoy and to Relax to. I'm enjoying painting it helps keep my mind off pain.
Barnclown shared her thoughts about how important it would be for me to rely on my knowledge of relaxation techniques. Reiki, aromatherapy, meditation and gong baths (that one sounds terrible but the sound of the gongs ever so gently played like a singing bowl sends you to another place of peace). Funnily I've found painting. So I timidly share them with you.
Yes, I've always found the need to distract even if it's just searching for things online. But this gives me purpose again. To create! With practice my skills will increase and maybe even in time a new financial venture. Who knows.
But for now I would just like to give all of us something to look up and make up ideas of what's happening in the painting. To me that's relaxing too!
Thank you Honeybug, you are far too kind. Really I would just like someone else to get a use out of them as well. They've helped me immensely!
Acrylics. I haven't tried oils. My daughter is a Fine Art studuent. So I stole hers to start, now I'm enjoying building my own collection. The joy of finding the cheapest items. Love a bargain!
I think I may have said or just thought it that I've decided to paint my walking stick in a crackle design. I'll share it when I do.
Thank you dear. Iβm so glad to know how you started. Wow
Weβre kindred spirits for I
Loved get my materials discounted too.
I experimented with crackle as well. I did several items as gifts. Have you ever used paint milk??? I believe it first was first used here generations ago as household paint for furniture and accessories. Just add water and wait time and voila paint. Quite the experience for me.
Iβm getting the urge to paint again. Keeping the hope alive it will happen again ...one day.
Happy crackling with your stick dear. Looking forward to the results.
Beautiful and serene view. Thank you so much for sharing with the rest of us. Please share more and any time you are able!πππππΌππ»π π¨β€οΈπ―ππ
Oh how ironic, in my life before marriage and children in the states, I was a chef for Italian restaurants. So I too love to cook, but cooking doesn't seem to love me any more. I'll just say 'hands & wrists' and say no more, you'll get it.
Thank you for the lovely compliment. It is a relaxing image to me. Just starting out but it helps focus on something else besides pain when I'm well enough to do it. It's a great medicine!
Thank you! Ya know sometimes I know exactly what I want and others the painting makes it's own life.
Just so glad to have purpose again. It was a difficult year of emptiness and now feel alive again. Everyone needs a purpose even if it's just to make sure you say hello to someone or write to someone.
Dear Ladyuponthelake (Wow, what a Lovely 'Name', I bet where you live is glorious....No doubt just like you.)
Anyway yes DO Keep Up, the art, I attend an ART Group, once a week. This is run by Tendring Specialist Stoke Services and, is based, at The Stoke Club near my Mother.
Most 'Relaxation Techniques' are quite good, mind you, I don't Fancy the Bells- even at distance.....I'm SUPPOSED to be Relaxing! Surely a bit like 'Relaxing' in a Near Boiling Sauna! Politely put.....Blow That...β¦.I'll Stick to the Pin Cushion Thanks very much!!!!!
Jokes apart, please DO, try to get yourself accepted into a 'Group', of some kind. If not Art, maybe Literature, Bowles maybe a Specific Interest Group (I don't know your 'taste(s)' or, quite what, is available in your area. Church Groups are often a good start mind.). For you 'Girls' the Women's Institute is a possibility too. Have a look, either in the Local 'Rag' or 'Freebie Mag', alternatively look 'On Line' there could, VERY well, be an suitable group just 'Begging' for new Members...β¦.
Good Luck, Lovely Name, please do let us know, how you 'Get on', will you.
Thank you Andrew, I think I may have described the Gong Bath wrong.... I thought the same thing before I went, but the sound of gong played GENTLY, not banging it as I thought, sends half the group off to sleep. Some snoring has been heard. But it is ever so relaxing. I.m really sensitive to noise and I tell you Gong Baths are lovely. So put your bells on and GO! πββοΈππ
I'm Still, not too sure, about the Bells but......, if you, found it Relaxing then good. I think that I'll Stick with, the 'Bubbly One'.
I went to, the local, Leisure Centre today- somehow I just couldn't 'get started', on the Rowing Machine. I did, a few other, bits before heading to the Pool. There were, quite a few Children in, not that that bothered me really. I could, of course, have gone into the Swim Lanes but, since I tend to do Breast Stroke, I can get in the way'. So I spent, a while, swimming Half Lengths with Sue- a lady that I have met before. After this I went into the 'Spa Room'.
Tonight I have been out to the Summer Variety Show, at the West Cliff Theatre- Clacton- I went with my Mother. It was a VERY good Show, one of the best, Singing, Dancing, Comedy, Magic all the usual 'stuff'. The First half ended with the Whole Company, performing Hairspray- youngsters included (they didn't feature, in the Second Half, bed time probably.) They Performed a, very interesting, 'Number' with all Red lights, Smoke and Leotards....I didn't recognise it, at all. Yes I DID ask, apparently it's from a New take, on Barnum, 'The Greatest Show On Earth' a film apparently.
Anyway that's all my 'News, for now, Beautiful 'Aquatic' Lady.
Thatβs gorgeous thank you for sharing, I craft to keep my hands busy and my mind still and have shared couple of items - am working on Christmas projects at the moment didnβt want to share as thought I might scare people this early in the year π π±
I DON'T Mention, the 'C' word, until half way through September....at the earliest! I did however buy, some Rope Lights- indoor type-, a few weeks go. NOT that that had ANYTHING, to do, with C...no, of course NOT.
Lady upon the lake is another beautiful painting Barnclown. I hope that I have the opportunity to see your wonderful paintings if I am in London again. They look good just seeing a picture of them and I know that in real life they will look even better.
Thank you for liking my post on picking up heart disease earlier ( if it helps only one person it will be well worthwhile)!
I have been rather quiet on this site for a while as I have been going through a really rough patch
(Something that I think you could all relate well to)!
My hope is after my Gastroscopy & Iron Infusions on the 17th I will feel somewhat better.
You have some great suggestions for relaxation on your post. Maybe I should get a massage after this infusion.
There was a lovely lady from Melbourne who occasionally writes on this platform, if you see this message would you write me a private message please?
