I hope you are all keeping as well as can be expected. 🙏🏻
I came across some old daler boards I’d bought literally decades ago and never used, so thought I’d have a dabble with my acrylic paints. I’ve always loved dramatic skies reflected in water so did this painting based on a view I had from the school where I taught for 6 years on one of the Scottish islands. I hope you like it.
I know a few of you are struggling just now for one reason or another, Lupus related and otherwise, and my love and best wishes go out to you all.🤗😘🙏🏻
Keep safe and warm. xxxx

Oh Cecily, that is such a lovely and encouraging thing to say. 🥰 Thank you so much. How are things for you now? I hope you are feeling much better. 🙏🏻 Love and hugs. 🤗😘x
I mean every word. I still have no front tooth and a my black eye is fading but I do have gloriously copper hair and now that my dry end and frizz are gone I have my curls back. I have finished the steroids and antibiotics too so hopefully I will pick up now and re start physio. No marathons but walking without falling woukd be wonderful. How are you doing? Xxx
So pleased you are on the mend now Cecily and the copper hair sounds wonderful!🥰 It would go well with my painting!😆 Hoping it isn’t long until you restart your physio.🙏🏻 Could Occupational Therapy help you with walking aids? 🤔I’m not bad thanks and even better since hubby had his ablation last week and is making a good recovery. The stress now being removed has helped both of us enormously. 👍🏻👍🏻 Take care Cecily. 🤗😘xx
I have walking sticks, more for balance than anything. I started physio then could not go until my PCR test came back negative. Oh that must be a huge relief about your hubby? Hopefully now you can both have a period of decent health and less stress. Big Cwtches xxx
I use walking poles when out walking for balance too. They really help 👍🏻 and stop me staggering about as though I’ve just left a party!🤣 Yes, we hope the ablation has worked this time and that his heart health will settle down now. 🙏🏻 He had open-heart surgery 3 years ago to repair a valve and it fell on my birthday! That’s a birthday I’ll never forget!😆 But hopefully things will improve now, and I sincerely hope they do for you too Cecily. 🙏🏻 Big 🤗 right back to you. 😘x
Thank you so much. I am so delighted to be free of the grey fuzz. This photo doesn’t do the colour justice it is three shades of copper. I am so pleased with it xxx
Cecily, Your hair is so amazingly beauty. Glorious! Just what I always wanted - the color, the curls and thick. I hope you don't mind, that I am very envious. You can probably guess, my hair is disappointing - too fine, thinning more and more, not curly, but not perfectly straight, boring color. Besides being like that to start with, disease, meds and then breaking my neck have added to how it is. Hope you continue to feel better. Love your posts always.
Haha, I thought you were describing my hair when you were talking about your own Pumpkin! 🤣 Sounds like we’d look like twins as far as our hair is concerned. 🙄 Take care. 🤗😘
Bless you I am so touched by your lovely comments thank you so much. Before it was done I was white and grey at the roots, a dirty brown in the middle and a dark red on the ends. It was nearly to my waist and all one length. It took me four hours to wash and comb through which exhausted me. My hair was my one redeeming quality and I felt low as it matted easily having not been trimmed for 21/2 years. It has given me so much of a boost. Honestly I had enough cut off to fill several cushions. I think meds affect it too I feel like a crisp most days dry hair, skin, eyes, mouth, brittle nails. I now have a little piece of sunshine right in my home. I am sorry that you have problems with your hair lovely. Can you have a colour added that might give you a boost too. Big Cwtches xxx
Oh how beautiful Spotty-ewe, you are so talented, what with your knitted sheep too I’m impressed. Really lovely 🥰 I adore those colours, I love a colourful sunrise/set.Sadly my operation was cancelled on Saturday 😢 so I started knitting my sheep 🐑 , I’ve finished one and am quite proud of myself, just waiting for some stuffing to be delivered, so fingers crossed it’ll look as good as yours 🤞it’s been a lovely distraction!
I’m so pleased you like it Diane, and I’m really pleased knitting your sheep helped to distract you. 👍🏻👍🏻 They are all individual so I’m sure your sheep will be lovely, and best of all he’s yours! 👏🏻👏🏻 I was wondering how your op went on Saturday and then saw you on forum at the weekend and thought I must have got the date wrong. I’m sorry to hear it has been cancelled.☹️ Have you got a new date for it? I hope you won’t have long to wait. 🙏🏻 Take care Diane and be sure to let us see your sheep when you have finished it. 🤗😘Xx
Bless you for thinking of me🙏 I was so disappointed after being all geared up for it , hopefully I’ll get another date but have been told it won’t be this side of New Year😞Yes I’ll be sure to show you my little sheeps, I'm on my second one, I think I could get addicted to knitting little cute things😃…. Farm yard next 😁😉
I’ll be sure to show you when they’re finished, the eyes have gone in today so they’re coming to life 🐑 😍
No wonder you felt disappointed and deflated after preparing yourself for it mentally. 😢 I’m so sorry you’ve had this happen and then to have to wait until after Christmas/New Year for a new appointment. That is awful. 😣 But I hope your sheep and farmyard keep you happily occupied. And all of us here will be eagerly waiting to visit your farm Diane. 😃 Take care. Love and hugs. 🤗😘xx
Thank you, they are indeed🙏… my daughter suggested the farm yard but we’ll see, could be an interesting project😃Love and hugs to you too 🥰🐑🐖🐄🐴🐐🐷🦙🐔🐮🐏🦃🚜xxx
Thank you SV. Hubby is doing well - thanks for asking. He’s behaving himself and resting as he should be and we’ve only been out a couple of very short walks (about 1.5 miles) as the weather the last few days has been frosty but sunny and calm. I hope it is the same with you. I’ve booked a self-catering week in Keswick from next weekend so hope that will also force him to take things easy. We’ll hopefully do a few short easy walks so Catbells will have to wait for another time.😆 Any word of your other op yet, or have they decided it won’t be necessary? 🙏🏻 Love and hugs, and cuddles for Bea and Mira. 🤗🤗😘😘xx
Love your painting, Spotty. We’re just back from a few days in Ambleside which was lovely and relaxing. Unfortunately my husband now has arthritis in his knees so our walking was curtailed too. Hope you have a lovely time.
Thanks Barbara, and thanks too for your kind wishes for our break away. 😁 Ambleside is lovely and I’m glad you had a lovely relaxing time.👍🏻👍🏻 I love Keswick because the town itself is on relatively flat ground and the parks surrounding it are all very easy walking too. Indeed the walk right around Derwentwater (10 miles) is pretty level too and with a couple of cafes on the way is most enjoyable. 😉 Take care Barbara. 🤗😘xx
That made me laugh - your Hubby behaving well 😂 , I’m really glad he’s doing ok and that you’ve been for some short walks and how lovely to be going away for a holiday. I don’t need another opp just yet- they will scan me every 2 years and see how much the aneurysm has grown, when it’s twice what it is now then they will operate so I’m glad of that ❤️
Yes it is a bit of a joke hubby behaving himself, and a rarity!🤣🤣 But the holiday will force him to take it easy.👍🏻 That’s excellent news that you won’t need the other op until the aneurysm has doubled in size. 👍🏻👍🏻 I hope that is a VERY long way off. 🙏🏻 🤗😘xx
Its really beautiful spotty , love those colours. You are a lady of many talents. I hope you will be using those paintbrushes throughout the winter and you'll be able to show us more masterpieces!. Xx🎨❤🎨
Aww, thank you so much Misty. I’ll be competing with that lovely horse you had in your caption comp!🤣 I find it very relaxing and we put on a ‘talking book’ while I paint and hubby works on his model boat made of matches. That will keep him going for years I would imagine!😂 I only paint on a Sunday night when I don’t knit or sew (old family tradition) so it may be some time before I produce another.😉 How is your foot pain Misty? I hope it isn’t getting any worse while you wait to see if they can give you another at New Year if not before. 🙏🏻 Take care lovely Misty. 🤗😘xx
I love your Sunday night tradition of making time for painting and that your husband is working on his boat. Love your painting and love your sheep. The best is that you share and inspire us all. I am working on my embroidery, but haven't accomplished much lately and you have reminded me to try to make time no matter how I feel or what is going on.Thank you.
So pleased my hobbies have inspired you Pumpkin. That is such a compliment, thank you.👍🏻👍🏻 Yes, I used to think Sundays were so restricting in not being able to knit or sew but it has forced me to get back to painting instead of sitting watching TV and achieving nothing.😁 I hope you finish your embroidery project and please share it with us when you do.Love and hugs. 🤗😘xx
Love it My friend can you please put more up on here . would like to see them . have seen so much talent on here from all the effected people on here . we had a very talented woman photographer on here that did amazing work . Thanks for sharing My Friend .
Thank you J, I’ve only old paintings from decades ago I can show you but as I’ll try my best to do more to use up the Daler boards and if they are passable I’ll be sure to show you. Thanks again J. I hope you are keeping okay these days. 🙏🏻 I know you love hugs so here’s a big one for you. 🤗
Gorgeous painting Spotty - I think you have captured the vibrant colours of the sky beautifully! Is it at sunset? Thanks for sharing your creativity, always so uplifting! I’m going to try and bake tomorrow as my arm is starting to feel a bit better now. Keep warm and well 🤗😘🤗
Thank you HW. I copied the scene from a photo I took on a typical dreich Scottish day so the colours are my own slant on it and yes I suppose they are definitely sunset colours with the moon trying to peek through - not very successfully I’m afraid. I found that very tricky and turned out not exactly as I envisaged it. 🙄 But it was fun to do. 😁
So pleased to hear your arm is beginning to feel better.👍🏻👍🏻 But don’t overdo it! Take care HW, and please share your baking with us. 😋 🤗😘xx
This is so incredibly beautiful 🤩, I love the harmony of those vibrant colours and you inspire me to finally start painting 🖼. I bought acrylic paints and a small easel a little while ago, but because of joint pain it has been hard to get started on it. However I now realize I don’t have to be pain-free to feel inspired and paint. I hope you are well too and warm 💕.
Hi Aline, Thank you for the lovely compliment. I am SO pleased my painting has inspired you to have a go with your own acrylics and easel.👍🏻👍🏻 I bought a desk top easel so I could sit and paint but ended up doing it on the table top itself because I forgot all about the easel.🤦♀️🤣🤣I’m sure you’ll love it once you get started. Have fun and let us see how you get on. Take care. 🤗😘xx
Thank you so much for your sweet and meaningful words ❤️🤗💐. I will let you know how it goes, I wouldn’t be surprised if I forget about my easel too😂 😊🖼. Have a wonderful day💕💕.
Hi again SC. I just noticed from my inbox that your original message contained a lot more. Did you delete some of it? Anyway you asked about the building in the distance. The black silhouetted building is the Catholic Church and the red and white roofed buildings are cottages the white roof is an asbestos roof. All 3 buildings are disused and falling into disrepair. Very sad. Xx
I did take some info out the reply - I'm creating a new post on theme of designing Christmas cards to share here....using any sort of painting or colouring etc.
Haha, I see what you mean with the old ruin looking like a cats nose and hollows in the land like it’s eyes. 😽 It must be the spirits of my 3 lovely cats I had when I lived there 🐈🐈⬛🐈⬛, all sadly long gone but they lived to 13, 19 and 20 respectively. Thank you Stills.👍🏻👍🏻 I’ll always see the feline side of the painting from now on. 😻😸😽xx
What a lovely thought, your cats spirits live within you and translate into your paintings, how wonderful and clever of you. I bet if I painted the devil would appear 👿
I agree with stills, I think your cats made be muses for all your artistic endeavors. They are continuing giving your unconditional love and inspiration for all of us.
Spotty your painting is so beautiful, and the colors they just jump right out at you. It is like a mirrored painting.. You clever one, you were a Picasso in a nother time. Very uplifting to stare and gaze into it. Can it be hung up, to pretty to not be..stay well my dear friend Much love, xxxxx The Stormysunshine
So pleased you find it uplifting Stormy.👍🏻👍🏻 I wanted to experiment with the colours and be bold and it has turned out more or less as I’d intended. 😄 I’m bogged down with knitting for a friend at present, but as soon as that is done and we are back from a week away in Keswick, in the English Lake District, I’ll begin another. 🤞 The house is full of paintings, some done by my Uncle who was a professional artist and some done by artist friends and a few of our own that we thought good enough to hang.🖼 So no room for additions really unless we turn our home into an art gallery.🤣 Thank you for the compliments my dear friend. 🥰 Take care and give that gorgeous Storm a big hug from me. 🤗 Love to all three of you. 😘🤗xxx
You kept this quiet 🤫🤣 fabulous 👍 very talented and lovely colours to brighten any day. Keep it up, good for the mind and soul, and for ours getting to see it🙌🏻😘🤗xxGlad hubby behaving 🤣 best wishes to him x
Aww thank you dear Stiff.🥰 I know you to be a talented painter yourself, so that is a big compliment, thank you. 👍🏻 I didn’t know how it would turn out but just wanted to experiment and have fun. I did and was quite pleased with the result - not exactly as I’d envisaged but my paintings never are! 🤣🤣 Yes, hubby is still behaving after his ablation but getting fidgety now so glad we are heading off to Keswick on Saturday so he can’t tackle the garden or anything else.😁 Love to you and R, and give Jag a kiss on his handsome head from me.😘🤗xxx
You’re a dark ewe spotty, 🤣🤣 hiding these talents 👍. Some of the art which doesn’t turn out as we thought can be better 👍🙌🏻. I hope you have a lovely time and keeps hubby behaving 🤣 which in turn will help your worries and help you relax🙏 R sends her love back at ya and jaggy is most grateful 🙏🤣🐶Take care 😘🤗xx
A dark ewe as in the black sheep of the family is about right. 🤣🤣 Thanks for your kind remarks and for the love from your lovely family and pets. I’l let you know how Keswick goes. Take care lovely Stiff.🤗😘xxx❤️🐶🦜🐓🐓🐓🐓🐟🐠🐟xxxx
Beautiful. You are really talented. Seeing this made me think of the scenery in Shetland. Do you watch it? Last episode on tomorrow! Keep up the painting as I would love to see more of your work. It must be so relaxing to paint. Xx 🎨🖼
Thank you so much GE. 🥰 Yes I watch Shetland and have been fortunate to visit twice, once in January for the fire festival.👍🏻👍🏻 Wonderful place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there during the winters. 😆 Should be an exciting finale tomorrow night and I hear a new series is already being filmed. 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks again for your lovely remarks.😄 Take care. 🤗😘x
Thank you so much Daisy, I’m so pleased you like it and I appreciate your kind words. 😘👍🏻 Time for you to dabble again with your acrylics. 😉 It is so relaxing and therapeutic. Take care Daisy. 🤗😘xx
