I've turned into a right moaning Minnie lately! Yet another cold turned chest infection has set my body right off!
Anyway, ive got my MRI at 8.30 am. Brain. How long does it take? I cannot imagine not coughing for very long.
Has anyone had a clear MRI followed by an a normal one as little as two years later?
Thanks in advance.

Well I’ve had 3 MRIs recently including brain - my third. So they put a see through guard over my face and head phones and I asked for ear plugs. Mine was 30 minutes this time but this involved a second MRI of my cervical spine. So I would say 15-20 minutes max.
I didn’t have any problems as the frame holds a mirror so you can see the staff and radiographer and speak to them if you need to stop or get out.
Just warn them if you need to cough and I’m sure they will pause - or else retake the frame if your coughing disturbs the imaging. I know this because the last MRI I had a month ago was of my sacral lumbar and I got this awful tremor and twitching in my leg. He asked me to please try and remain extra still and re took the frame.
All done. I mentioned coughing when I went in and she said if I coughed the picture would be rubbish and that would be it! Haha! It was hard and I thought I was going to stop breathing altogether by the end but I managed it!
Well done you! I found staying still for lumbar one hardest as being told off for rigours made me twitch more!! So can imagine how hard not coughing was. Xxx
