PIP Appeal

Hi, my pip appeal was adjourned I’m april I have today received a new date in August .. not sure why case was adjourned. Just feeling anxious, I have lupus so suffer with my joints in arms, wrists and sometimes hips, anc mouth aswell.. any advice would be appreciated.. thankyou

Just be sure to be the exact opposite of me because I failed!

Where I went wrong was being too squeamish and proud to describe the impact of my IBS-c issues (fecal incontininence) with three strange women - their very first question . Same went for everything else really because I am not good at facing rhe facts about the impact autoimmunity has on my everyday life.

So it’s not about the name of your condition so much as the impact it has on your every day life (worse days only) that they are wanting you to describe. That’s where I came unstuck because I’d already blown this claim six months previously at my first assessment. And they wouldn’t allow for new information about progressive symptoms at tribunal - it al refers back to the original assessment - in my case last year. So I messed up by being unable to effectively challenge things the assessor had stated. Or rather I tried but they chose to believe her.

They didn’t start their questions in any order and, despite being an intelligent person - brain fog kicked in - because I find these random type interviews very hard to process.

So if you are like me then it would be best if you could get someone from your welfare rights to represent you at the tribunal. I wish I’d done this looking back as they tripped me up again and again and I was too tired and humilated to stop them.

Just remember that the majority win at appeal and hopefully you will too. I just wanted to answer and tell you where I went wrong and why I lost so you can do all you can to do yours differently.

Thank you for your advice..
