Hi, I am just wondering if many of you have little swollen glands down one side of your neck most of the time and even more pop up in a flare

I do, but I have CFS/ME, and that’s why. My doctors have suspected I have lupus, but nothing has proved it really. I personally ice them.

I have swollen glands in my neck just about all the time, mainly the right one. not always sore but they do seem to swell up to painful levels now and then. my rheumy has never said anything about this I just read that lupus can affect the glands so I just live with it. I mention things to my rheumy and she either ignores it or changes the subject so I'm never sure what is lupus related.

I have a lump in my breast that has turned out to be an enlarged lymph node. Will see my rheum injuly

Hi Charl80,

I have swollen glands on right side of my neck always however they do swell when I am having a bad flare. Just another thing with SLE I'm afraid.

Been like that for over 20 years.

I've had swollen lymph nodes just below my ear for almost 18 months. More recently the lymph nodes on the other side have swollen and have become swollen in my collar bone, this has also started to happen on the opposite side as well.

Rather oddly I've been having nodes become enlarged and painful in my abdomen and around armpits.

Before the GP had even considered Lupus I was referred to radiology. The radiologist was superb and extended the examination beyond the area specified (left side of neck) and looked at all inflamed. He said that they were enlarged and reactive but within 'normal' size range. He felt that they were reactive, even though at the time there was nothing for them to react to.

I'm due to see consultant rheumy on the 4th and will ask then. I know the GP wasn't worried about them and neither was the radiologist.

I have noticed that if they become significantly enlarged that I feel pretty grotty for a while.

Hello. Sorry to hear that. I have sore enlarged lymph to the side of my underarm off and on - so to the side of my breast. It doesn't last for longer than a week when it happens so my GP isn't concerned. I've always had slightly(?) swollen glands just under my ear.. just under the jaw. I have terrible tinnitis these days too... do you? Hope that helps.. Hope it all improves etc. All the best, D

Hi. I’m Ilene. First time I’ve responded but finally, someone else who has one of my symptoms - sorry! Yes, I have had problems with my right gland for years. Doctors say nothing is wrong but it hurts. I’ve even had swallow tests. I’ve learned to medicate myself - salt water gargle, massaging the gland ( especially when it’s hurting my ear) hinder and lemon hot tea, lozenges. A friend told me about an enzyme she used. Im not sure if this is the same thing but I suddenly got a knot right in front of my left ear, right by the the part you push down to close your ears. I lave Lupus SLE and Discoiled. Would that be the same? Lupus
