Lupus versus Diabetes

It is really unfair that lupus patients can not get free medication while diabetics patients does. I have been diagnosed with lupus for over 7 years now and I must take my medication. How long are we going to continue paying for it especially when there is no cure for it. Even doctors are not helping issues, each time I request for at least a tgree months prescription the doctors usually decline saying "we are not allow to exceed one month on each presription

Not sure where you live Adlinejohn but almost all my meds for Lupus, Sjogrens and OA are free under the NHS....I buy paracetamol which is very cheap and the xylimelts that I use at night are my own choice to buy, they're definitely not cheap, but as I said it was my choice to buy them based on recommendations in here

The various staff I've spoken to about xylimelts have never heard of them which made me a bit unsure about using them. I'm hoping when I see the dentist at the hospital in a few weeks time she will have done her research as she said she would....

The Prescription Charges Coalition (of which LUPUS UK is a member) is campaigning against the currently unfair and seemingly arbitrary system so that all people in England with a long-term health condition can get free prescriptions. The original list of conditions to be exempt from paying for prescriptions was made 50 years ago this June and it hasn't really been reviewed since.
