Since changing my practice earlier this year I've been really pleased how well they have put things right that my last practice had overlooked/forgotten/preferred to drink tea.
I was due to see a nurse today for a medication review at 1pm. Wasn't looking forward to going out in the wind and ice. Then I had a phone call to tell me not to attend and the appt is rebooked. There is a bad d&v virus going around and they didn't want me to catch it.

That was very good of them Lupiknits. How often do you have your medication reviewed? I like to think that mine is constantly being reviewed but I do seem to get prescribed anything and everything and also have the offer of being able to ask for anything else that helps! My GP is really great but by her own admission she is out of her depth with lupus. My consultant is erratic (at best) so is not a great deal of use/support to her/me. We tend to muddle along along in a kind of 'whatever works, you can have' kind of fashion. My pharmacist tried to review my meds but only spotted a few of the ones I'm on, overlooked Mycophenolate and inhalers totally so not a lot of use!
Stay snuggled up inside, it is blinking freezing. My chest is too painful for me to draw breath ATM so I'm doing the same. I look like the Pillsbury dough boy when I venture outside! Xx
I'm in hibernation here. I've never had my medication reviewed by this practice ( in 10 months) but the pharmacy attached to the practice is open on a Saturday and isn't busy, so the pharmacist goes through everything, asking how it's working, any side effects etc.
I’m really impressed. As you know I’ve moved about a lot in recent years and I’ve never had this from a GP practice or pharmacy yet and I’ve been on all manner of powerful meds, had horrible hospitalising drug reactions.
My med list is growing all the time and lately they’ve switched me about with brands of Mycophenolate without blinking, which worries me as I’m on the maximum dose and getting return of tummy problems.
So it’s good to know you’re in good hands and also that this is how a good GP practice and pharmacy should work! X

It's biggish 7 GPs but not all full-time. There seem to be a lot of nurses. It was built 2-3 yrs ago , has two floors, and also has a large room used daily for coffee and a natter, mums and tots, a dementia group, arts and crafts etc.
When it was built the pharmacy was made part of it. As the GP surgery is closed on a Saturday, they draw down a heavy grille so that you can only enter the pharmacy.
The best thing for me is that it's hobbling distance as well as being ⭐️. The reception staff are very cheery, too.
I'm really impressed with the care your practice has shown you. I've never heard of a practice cancelling anyone's appointment because of a bad virus. They obviously known their patients and their conditions and what meds they take and why they take them. Your practice is deffo a keeper!
Repeat Medication not done by GP Practice/Chemist😞 What else must I do? Is there anything more practical can be done? 😭😭😭
