Just for Interest: "Borrow my Doggy"

My son told me about this site. It allows for people without dogs because they live in a flat where pets are not allowed, or they work long hours, to " borrow" dogs for cuddles and walks, and even overnight stays. . No money exchanges hands. I've joined because I can't do more than toddle round the block with Blue and let him do his own fast circuits around the garden. I live close to Roundhay Park and have had many offers already. Blue will have fun

The whole thing is carefully vetted and overseen, of course. I have had to pay a sum as an owner which covers accidents and emergencies.

So, if any of you wish your poor hound could get out more, or if you fancy borrowing a dog, but don't feel able to own one, it's worth a look. borrowmydoggy.com

Great idea. I am so lucky to have my neighbour that can have my little dog 🐶 when ever I need to go out. The only thing is she is getting on 88 and really fit and I do think about the time when it comes that she can't have him who would look after him if I have to go for my appointments🤔🤔

It all started when I was really ill 😷 and could not take him out and she would have him so now he is never left on his own and I have the situation as to where he won't stay on his own.

I would probably have to leave him for a few minutes at a time and build the time up.

Hope that you are feeling well and take good care of yourself 🤗🤗🌹🌷🌺🌸xxx

This sounds a great solution. My vet is an animal behaviourist and also a friend and she gave me a whole load of activities that I could do with my dogs when I couldn't walk them. Kind of mental stimulation games, she explained that these activities can also be tiring for the dog. Happy to share them with you if that would be helpful as I have found them easy to do even with limited energy and the dogs have been happy. I have 4 dogs, 2 young and very bouncy!

We have friends who 'borrow' a doggy at the weekends for their son to enjoy. They have about 3 regulars and it seems to work extremely well. My Labrador is huge and unreliable with other dogs so isn't really a candidate for this but I think it's a fantastic scheme.

I now have four " borrowers" for Blue to interview. Am definitely holding a space for the bf ironman and gf runner to return from their hols. Just want to see if Blue can outrun them 😂
