Kidney function

Got a call today from rumi as my bloods show a big dip on the kidney function and they don't know wether it's the methatrexate injection or dehydration/infection . Has anybody else had this with methatrexate injections

Just curious what are your kidney tests and the results

They just told me it was considerably different ?will hopefully find out on Friday

Hi. I do have lupus SLE and lupus nephritis... when I got started on methotrexate pills, during the first 4-5 months my kidney function was worst. The nephrologist added Cellcept to my treatment and I went back to "normal".

I'm not medically trained to tell you if this is your case or not, but I really suggest you to pursue a diagnosis. it won't resolve itself. Infections and organ involvement are always a possibility due to our medications and disease.

Little advice: ask all the questions you need to understand exactly what is the problem with your kidneys. Is it only in bloods or in urine too? Do you need to eat different? ( less meat, salt, coffee...) Is this affecting your blood pressure?

Yes me too. I have lupus and I'm experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure. I'm currently on dialysis due to acute kidney injury. I think I'm having thyroid problems
