Poor her 🙁. If she feels very sick it might be worth asking for the injections as that makes it much less likely? I had some nausea on the injections but it’s all gone now. They gave me ondanestron for the sickness which worked well but know others have done well on stemetil. Hope it stops soon x

Hello Ian

That is really miserable for her, and you too. Stemetil injections were the standard treatment for nausea back in my youth as a nurse and seems to be pretty good. But there are quite a lot of other options, which work in different ways, so there's a good chance that at least one will work for her. I have also tried cyclizine (an antihistamine), ondansetron (best taken ahead of when the nausea actuially sets in) and metoclopramide - which is the one I personally find most effective. Hope things get better soon x

My son has had nausea on methotrexate, usually just the day after . The rheumy has now suggested taking the folic acid the day before and 2 days after the methotrexate. He doesn’t have the nausea every time but when he does he can’t do eat . I hope your daughter is able to get it under control, best wishes

Hi... sorry to hear about your problems. Pure curiosity: does you daughter take methotrexate pills just 1 day a week? I was on 15 mg a week but split in 2 days, this month it was increased to 20mg, my rheumy recommended to split the dosage in 3 days... my symptoms are not very bad. I wish I could lose some weight due to nausea! LOL

Hi yes she’s on 25 mg tabs followed by folic acid once a week (Fridays)but lucky she tolerates the tabs much better than I did

Hi

I swapped from the tablets to Metoject. Has reduced the nausea. I have 5mg of folic each day, except for injection day.
