  • Hello soggysocks: I'm glad your ankle break is healing ok. Well done! But oh dear, am so sorry you're struggling with your weight. Have you talked to your GP about this struggle? My GP just referred me to a nutritionist because of my lower GI probs...your question makes me wonder whether you might benefit from seeing a nutritionist too. Perhaps talking to your GP & seeing a nutritionist might help you learn more about the route you need to take in order to qualify for treatments like the gastric band.

Take care and good luck πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€ coco

  • Emotional eating/compulsive eating - whatever anyone wants to call it, is a real problem, and combined with physical problems makes it much worse. I very much hope you can get your GP to help.

  • Lupiknits is right. When I was much younger I struggled with emotional compulsive eating for several years....I was lucky to get good really counselling which helped greatly

  • Thank you both for your comments I really have tried to slim but to no avail and am not making any excuses when I say this but I have stopped smoking and taste buds have came back to life as well as this I have been too as what I thought a food class but they were all just talking about things that had nothing to do with food :'( which left me feeling very frustrated me and food have become a very vicious circle

  • When I was trying to sort out my eating prob, I had to try a few different approaches before finding what works for me. Courage: you'll get there. And your GP practice staff really should support & encourage you in this...they'll be impressed by how hard you've been trying already. πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€
