Endoxan (cyclophosphamide) is a treatment that would need to be stopped and changed to an alternative at least three months prior to conception. Men and women taking cyclophosphamide must take contraceptive precautions. If you're planning a family or if you become pregnant while taking cyclophosphamide, you should discuss this with your doctor as soon as possible.

Cyclophosphamide can reduce fertility in both men and women, though stopping the drug may reverse this effect. This should be discussed with the doctor, preferably before starting the treatment. There may be options available to help you preserve fertility if this is important.

It is important that pregnancy in lupus is planned. Conception should happen following at least six months of lupus inactivity to reduce the risk of flares and complications. For more information about lupus and pregnancy, you can read and download our booklet at lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
