Hi friends, do you know of a good consultant in Manchester. Currently under rheumatologist, but I don't think he specialises in autoimmune.
Thanks

Hi, I was seeing an Immunologist Dr Helbert, at MRI, he was a nice man but eventually was sent to Addenbrookes in Cambridge as services were quite poor in Manchester a few years ago. They weren't allowed to give you Rituximab for WG then but that may have changed. Still prefer Addenbrookes. You could try him. He's familiar with WG, lupus, etc. Likes a more holistic approach which I always good. I encountered a couple of others who said they knew about autoimmune but didn't rate them at all. They were trying to get a vasculitis clinic going there but it never got going, couldn't seem to coordinate it very well. Might have done it now though. Good luck. Always difficult in this area.
Hi babssara ,
The Kellgren Centre at the Manchester Royal Infirmary is a LUPUS UK Centre of Excellence. Prof Ian Bruce and Dr Ben Parker are two of lupus specialists there. Footygirl has been seen there too, so it may be worth reading her posts.
My consultants at Salford Royal have all been good there is now a new lupus specialist named dr kamath
Hi, I've recently moved to Trafford area and my new GP has just done my referral to Rheumatology. I've been previously diagnosed with UCTD.
I've received an appointment at Salford Royal rather than MRI. I'm pleased to see a positive post above about the team at Salford but have read some negative ones about a particular male Prof. there whom I'm hoping may have left (?) as he's not listed on their website.
Anyone currently under the care of Salford Rheumatology that can provide some information about the current team there? Is it likely I would see Dr Kamath?
