You and me both - but mine is caused by the steroids! i do not use any medications to assist me in sleeping as I feel that I take too many tablets already! Fed up of counting sheep though lol!

I use Quiet Life and find that quite good, its not a sleeping tablet but it has calming effects. Its a herbal one that I buy and no it doesnt leave me feeling drowsy at all. I believe Nytol is very similar. I dont think you need to worry about the morning after effects :)

I started taking amitriptyline last month and was fine for 2 weeks, I felt so much better. In the 3rd week I was waking with a terrible dry mouth in the night. I have Raynauds and the amitrip made it so much worse that I've stopped taking it. I'm so disappointed as, apart from making raynauds even worse, it suited me down to the ground, no drowsiness the following day either. I will ask the nurse about when I see her in march. What do you take at night to help you sleep??

Hi Chrisj,

I am taking Loprazolam given to me by doctor,I had very bad episode of depression and was not sleeping.

I would like to come off these as I do not want to become depedent on them.

I have stopped the Nytol meantime as felt very unwell following morning after taking them.

I have heard a few people take Amitriptyline to help them sleep.

I have to watch that nothing interacts with my anti depressant tablet.

Hope you get some restful sleep.

Doreen
