For the past 3 days I've been having extremely bad pain in my mouth......
I only saw the dentist last week so I know everything is fine with my teeth. But I can't actually pinpoint where in my mouth it is. Sometimes it's at the top then next time it's at the bottom. I can eat fine either side with no problems, so it's not toothache otherwise it would hurt.
I do have sjogrens so I'm wondering if it's that.
Has anyone else had pain in their mouth like this, if so what did you do to help it.

Sorry to read you have a very painful mouth, glad you've been checked by your dentist. Maybe a referral to oral surgery at a hospital would help?. I can recommend Difflam Mouthwash as it has a steroid in it and numbs pain, helpful for eating if used just before meals. It is expensive if bought OtC and you can get it on prescription. Hope it's better soon, mouth problems are miserable. X
Thanks Misty14, I haven't heard of that mouthwash before so I might give that a try.
I also told my friend who is a nurse and she asked me if i take gabapentin and how much, which i take 300mg and she said some people on that have jaw pain.
It's really painful and one that I've got to get checked out as its nearly every day I've got it now so I think a visit to the doctor is in order too.
Thank you for replying misty and I wish you good health.
Good luck Georgie when you go to doctor. You can have TMJ which is inflammation of the jaw joint. Is it stiff and painful to open mouth?. Does it crack?. Hope you get good help. X
When the dentist checks round my neck etc she gets me to open and shut my mouth and she said I have got some clicking there. But it's not painful and doesn't bother me when I eat etc.
But the pain I have is right along my jaw bone and I had it in my ear earlier. I know it's not my teeth as its in all different places, it can be along the top then the bottom and then as I said right into my ear.
But as my friend mentioned about the gabapentin, I think I'd best see my gp and see what he has to say. I have heard of the Tmj, and I also wondered about arthritis of the jaw too. So I really need to get an appointment this week before it gets any worse.
Hi I've got lupus and I sometimes get a really painful mouth usually along the jaw line.takes a while for it to settle with strong painkillers .hope it eases soon for you Georgie 💊
