My racing heart saga.

Hi all just in from work sorry it's late.Saw cardiologist today he can give me medication that shouldn't make my Raynaud's worse but won't until I have a repeat stress test and checking blood pressure at the same time. Also a heart monitor for 48 hours.😭 He wants to see what's going on.He also said the adalat I take for Raynaud's can sometimes raise the heart rate so I asked should I stop taking it just in case and he said no way.He said might not be pots but wants to check things out so hopefully will get to the bottom of this as it's going on too long. Happy enough now at least being checked out.😂Circles. X

Thanks misty 14,hopefully will get sorted soon appointments shouldn't be long as I have to pay privately for everything here in Ireland.Get a portion back from Laya.

Hi Circles - glad you are being checked out. I get racing heart and arrhythmia often - usually after eating. I'm on high BP meds but nothing for my Raynaud's now. I was on Adalat at one stage but it made my legs swell up and caused severe folliculits in the end. I've never been referred to a cardiologist or had a 24 hour BP monitor so may suggest this to my GP at my next review. It's good when our complex disease are properly monitored isn't it. Otherwise it's such hard work having to fight for each symptom to be investigated!

Thanks Twitchytoes, I always associated my heart racing with lying down but the last few months I have been taking more notice. It happens all the time.Any walking, standing after eating.Even take rests while cleaning the house.Ok walking at my own pace but can't walk fast get breathless all the time even talking.Anyway has been going on a long time and the gp I see doesn't take much notice,my other gp left to do locum work.Only had her a few months, she was brilliant. You should ask about a monitor yourself and get it checked out. Thanks again.Circles.x

Thanks Coco, I probably should have had this checked out sooner but I tend to plod along with this lupus stuff as best I can.I believe the specialist are the people to help me the most at the moment as the gp gives me the impression because my kidneys seem ok all the other stuff isn't too important.I really am lucky as I still try to carry on as normally as possible.Unless something stops me in my tracks I can at least manage.I think I have all this lupus stuff so long without knowing what it was, I am so used to plodding along. It definitely is slowing me down but won't stop me😭 Thanks again your help is so appreciated.Circles.X
