Does anyone have any dreams or goals in life that they never got to do because of lupus .
I watch a lot of YouTube video of Jimmy kimmel and Jimmy fallon they are late night chat show hosts in America . I would love to be a chat show host.
When I watch American tv, I think to my self I'd love to live in America and be an actress on tv. I know these 2 things would never happen . I was just wondering if anyone of you have had anything you wanted to do but become of lupus you can't .
Just sitting here thinking about it makes me feel quite sad.

Please dont let your condition hold you back from your dreams. You may have to plan and do things gradually but you need to live your life to the full😀 There sre some health professionals who can help with managing your energy levels , it may be worth asking your consultant when you see them again . Wishing you all the best 😀😀😀
Acting is not something that i know much about- but- there may be classes you could take to see if it could be a possibility or if there are other roles within that industry that suit you. I truly hope you find something you love to do 🙂
Dreams can evolve/be modified, try not to give up on things, I do understand how heard it is but, in the you will find new dreams that can be achieved.
To be honest acting and media would be one of the easier things to do ,if you can cope with the lighting,as my dad was an actor and I saw many ways used to get round people's inabilities or injuries .These included filming an episode when he had broken both feet and ankles but on viewing it never showed due to careful planning and photography. He had a connective tissue disorder ,lupus ,arthritis, breathing and heart condition but he started in amateur dramatic group and ended up playing characters in a few well known tv shows plus stage/theatre performances and tours.
There will always be unachievable dreams for folk for whatever reasons although illness always seems to be a cruel one .My eldest has dreamed of a certain job for years and despite ticking all the boxes and doing all the work necessary a slight curvature of the spine caused by a botched knee op during a growth spurt has stopped him due to health and safety regs.To say he was gutted is an understatement and still reeling from it now so sticking with his up to now job while he sort of regroups his thoughts and sets a different goal and dream to achieve.
It is ok to feel a little sad that some choices may not be available to you but please look to what you can achieve and feel positive about them.Set a goal or dream that is achievable even if it stretches you a little and needs full on commitment.
He joined local dramatic society and was spotted by someone in one of the town hall shows the group put on.He performed on radio/stage/tv and film .
Try Google for local amateur dramatics/drama groups /performing arts in your area .There are normally one or two in most places. If you still have a local library, most have shut round here, see if any grouphas put flyers up for shows they are putting on and contact them to say you are interested in joining.
No guarantees but you can't achieve or be noticed unless you get out there and give it a go.
There is also,if you have the confidence, the idea of contacting your local newspaper to ask if they could help you by doing a story of what you have to put up with illness wise and what you would love to achieve. If they do a story you might get some group or interested talent spotter contacting you.It really is about going for it in whatever way you feel happy with.
I think to myself I really wanna do it . I know deep down the dream will just pass . To be honest I think my dream really would be to work in America or something like that . I wouldn't mind doing radio or tv presented or news reader .
Do not let lupus stop you from achieving your dreams & goals! You may have to change the way you want to achieve them never let lupus stop you.
As you probably know, I have to go barefoot and have been for the last 2 years due to lupus issues but, I will not let it stop me from doing what I want or going where I want!
I do my gardening, go fishing, go shopping, go to restaurants, go to doctors, go to family functions, go to church ( I am choir and song director at our church), cut grass, walk in the forest & walk on hot asphalt. Every thing I do I have to go barefoot.
So to answer your question, yes you can do anything you want to do or be!
Great post loulamb, + great discussion 🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏👏...WONDERFUL replies
I do VVVVV MUCH agree with everyone...and I hope you shoot for the 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My goals/aims have all been revised/adjusted over the years as my health deteriorated &/or improved...now @62, and doing pretty good so far 🍀 thanks to great multisystem treatment plans, am aiming to HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS POSS 🎉🍾‼️while staying well enough for at least 10 more years to see the 20,000 native trees & shrubs my hero husband Badger has planted in the 37 acres around us grow up into a young, self sufficient forest habitat, home to native British wildlife including species needing protection & encouragement, e.g. badger, hare & roe deer....which means keeping Badger as fit as poss on food he can actually digest (multiple ops for his early onset crohns have left him with intestinal strictures...during a lifetime of severe illness, he NEVER had imagined he could be well enough GO FOR a dream 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 like planting a wood...) + to do my best to support my widowed aged mother until she departs for the happy hunting grounds + to learn from you guys while I do everything I can to give something back in the hope of turning my decades of dodgy health into something useful...
