Spots on tongue

Sorry pic is upside down . Every so often I keep getting these spots on my tongue . Does anyone know what these are . Has anyone had them before ?

Go to dentist to have it checked they are better with tongue matters

It looks like your taste buds raised, I get this sometimes. The tongue reacts to something I've eaten.

If you haven't mentioned it to doctor or dentist before, it is worth telling them just so that they can check what is going on. Could be something or nothing. X

That looks like oral thrush to me. I get the same type of ring on my tongue, esp. after eating melon and other soft fruit. I take natural live yogurt for it... it does ease it. Steroids and methotrexate can also cause it, or make it worse. The doctor can give you medication for it but it is short term only; I found the yogurt to be equally effective (and it tastes better).

Stick your tongue in natural yoghurt - it works but tell Doc - you have oral thrush x

Hi , it was oral thrush . I still get it a lot. I find after eating certain foods it irritates it

You can also get something called geographic tongue with lupus where you get swollen patches that look like little islands on your tongue from the lupus inflammation. This photo looks like that on the tip of the tongue. Thrush is the white coating so both are possible.
