Last week I got a letter from DWP saying that from a certain date I will no longer get ESA. Fine, just great! I thought. Now today I have received a letter from DWP saying I meet the eligibility for Support Group. Whatever that means and I'll get ESA FROM 17march.
Confused from Chelmsford.

Congratulations Alison! Looks like you're one of the lucky few to be placed in the support group, which means you won't have to attend interviews/seek work. It's possible, inbetween receiving the first and second letters, that medical reports from your doctor/s were received.
Sit tight don't do anything, they confuse themselves. See what comes next.
i had some conflicting information about ESA too from the DWP. I got one letter saying I wasn't eligible, then 2 days later I got another one saying I had met the criteria and was placed in the Support Group in July 2015. I have just reached State Pension age, with all the recent age changes at the age of 63 and received a letter saying not entitled to ESA anymore. This benefit is only applicable below state pension ages.
Shame the DWP aren't more organised, all very confusing and there was no extra information supplied by any medical people in between the two letters. I called the helpline after the letter saying I was entitled to the benefit to ensure that I wasn't going to get a benefit and have to pay it back.
Well done, getting through the hurdles, it is a bit of a maze.
As tigerlily4 said its the best place to be, if you have just finished working and gone on to claim ESA, you should stay in the support group. At the moment, they pay your NIs contributions so you will not have a break and should be left alone
