Between 30% and 50% of people who have SLE will be positive for antiphospholipid antibodies and approximately 50% of people who have these antibodies can develop increased clotting problems over time if not treated. Antiphospholipid syndrome has a few names and may sometimes be called APS, Sticky Blood syndrome or Hughes Syndrome.
