after 2 years of being told yup if u go off those meds, you will have full blown lupus....I havent been on meds for a year, and went to the rhumetologist other day..He said, i dont have to come back unless something crops up, as my lupus isnt very active...Im to stay on 2000mg or IU of Vit D though....Im still wondering if it has just been thyroid and post meno all this time....Meanwhile, im over medicated on thyroid meds again, but i was dieting sucessfully, so maybe thats why my dose needs to be less...One thing fixes, the other breaks...but i feel ok Ill just go with that for now...
well...: after 2 years of being told yup if u go... - LUPUS UK
well...

Good news👍👌👏👏👏👏🍀🍀🍀🍀
This is great news and I can relate to it although I'm not there yet myself. So glad you are off meds and lupus presently well behaved. I believe for many sufferers Lupus does diminish with menopause so perhaps you are one such? Same goes for my RA which has gone away to very low activity - but unfortunately other neurological symptoms have progressed. Very much hoping yours stays where it belongs!
Twitchy x

I hope so too Twitchytoes....
Thing is it seem to come with menopause for me....not peri meno, but if thats for sure what i had, then it was stress, menopause, and maybe a tad hereditary (Gran had RA)...but its disappeared, and its post meno for me now...I best take great care of myself, just takes money PS/Im sad to hear for you other neurological symptoms have progressed. I hope things change for you for the better, all the way around....
Hormones, don't want to live with them, can't live without them. Such good news. Hope your thyroid settles and things continue to improve.

Thank you, Johare
Yup, hormones As you get older, fix one thing....and another one breaks...lol
Hi Dgleds,
Did your Rheumatologist recommend that you come off medication? Did he supervise the withdrawal process?
I'm glad to hear that your lupus isn't very active at the moment. Hope it stays that way!

Yes...I didnt use steroids...I waited for plaquinil to kick in when i was on meds...But yes to your questions...(Steroids dont agree with me)...He had me on high vitamin D, that seem to help lots...I am actually still on Vit D.
