Today has been rough with severe stomach cramps with urgency for the loo. I have also started with tingling in my left hand and two fingers. It isn't painful just annoying.....what is this from?

I get that sometimes, mostly when my lupus is flaring. It's nerve inflammation. The fact that your tummy is also suffering might be an indication of a flare or it might be simple coincidence. Just keep an eye on your symptoms for the next few days, if random pains, tingling, headaches, etc start appearing, you might want to get some steroids for a short period.

Thanks. I am in the process of coming off the steroids. Might remember ring my nurse. It feels as if the fingers are asleep if you know what I mean. Just another thing to add to the list.

Withdrawal from steroids could also cause this. It should settle within 2-3 days.

Hi adrienne

Sorry to read your suffering, just to add to Purpletops great answers , which fingers are affected?. If it's the first one and thumb with numbness and tingling could be carpal tunnel which is a nerve problem. It will respond to extra steroids. Hope your better soon. X

It is my pinky and ring finger. Still there this morning, was hoping it would have shifted during the night.

adrienneioannou I'm having a lot of those problems at the moment as I'm coming off steroids after 2 years with no break (spent a long time on doses up to 30mg pred and got a flare up on top of the one being treated as dose was being reduced, very disappointing), apparently it should settle... although mine's taking quite a few weeks. I'm just glad to be off steroids finally yippee :) My GP gave me stuff for my stomach as it was doing all sorts of awful things along with cramp (don't ask!!!) Eat things you are comfortable with and drink plenty of fluid - I was told to increase mine to help. Hope it settles down soon x
