I have been suffering from thrust and a lots of water infections over last the couple of months. I have been going backwards and forwards to the doctor's, lots of antibiotics and tests. I think that, i got thrust back again. I have got a boyfriend and we been sleeping together, but I have not told my GP or my parents. It is not very easy for me to go to the doctor's on my own, as I am disabled with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy and unable to speak at all.
I would like to know if my boyfriend take me to the hospital to check me over, will it be private?
Hi Lisamac, you don't say how old you are but I assume that you are over 16 because of the 1980 in your name? As such you are entitled to privacy àt any medical appointment. You can get thrush treatment at the chemist or Boots online, your boyfriend will need some too. Can your boyfriend take you to the doctors? You really need to speak to your GP about birth control too. Hope this helps.
Hi Margaret, i am 35 years old. My boyfriend said that if he took me to the hospital for a private check, the hospital will send a letter to my gp. He can't take me to the doctor's because we don't live together. What I am not happy about I am still leaking since Jane, that it all staring from. I am fed up.
Hi Lisa, my daughter is the same age as you are. Any adult of your choice can accompany you to a medical appointment. But your GP can only care for you properly if they know all the facts. This is only my opinion and I don't know what your limitations are but it's in your own best interest to see your GP in private. He / she will not tell ANYONE why you are there.
Thank you Margaret, I was worry about anything, don't think that Thrush hasn't come back again. It is nice to talk to somebody because I have been going mad.
Hi Lisa, as already mentioned by Margaret, all appointments are confidential if over 16 and you can choose who accompanies you. Due to your language difficulties you may have to appoint your boyfriend to speak for you due to the nature of your medical problem, this is to safeguard you. They will want to ensure there is no undue pressure from your boyfriend. Even if under 16 but deemed competent you can attend your Gp or family planning clinic for advice which is confidential. As Margret said it is also important to look at birth control ie condoms as this may help some of your problems. Does your boyfriend show symptoms? Some antibiotics can also cause thrush. Both of you speaking to a family planning nurse would be a good option. Good luck.

Hi Johare, Thank you. I am 35 years old. My boyfriend said that if he took me to the hospital for a private check the hospital would send a letter to my gp. We are using condoms, them does not help. What I am not happy about I am still leaking since Jane, that it all staring from there. I am fed up.

When you say leaking, is this blood like a period or clear fluid or discharge? You are correct if you are seen at the hospital they will inform your gp however, he/she does not have the right to tell your mum, although I know these things slip out. The family planning clinic would still be best. They will see both of you. The nurses are trained in sexual health including contraception, infections, minor irritations and will hive you both good advice. This may include how to tell your mum.

Thank you Johare, I think that I was worrying about anything, because Thrush hasn't come back. Leaking is not to bad now, it is brown discharge. It is nice to talk to somebody because, I thought that I was going mad.
