ADEM with lupus?

Have had MRI results back - ADEM? Anyone had this with lupus before. Seem to get a lot of sinus infections( or one that just doesn't go away). Could this have lead to my ADEM(acute disseminated encephalomyelitis). It has been 1 yr between MRIs so condition is gradually resolving, but thought my headaches where just a part of lupus.

Hi, I was diagnosed with lupus in 2012, before that I was hospitalised with guirrenne barre and ADEM, even now it is questionable whether I had lupus at that time also as I was not checked for it. I had a large lesion on the right side of my brain which caused paralysis to my left side along with central nervous problems. The lesion is still there and even though my mobility is fine now I still suffer with neuropathic pain from time to time. Not sure if thats connected to lesion though, neurologist is doubtful. Very interesting that you have suffered with ADEM too as a lupus sufferer. All the best in your recovery x

Thanks for your reply. GP just seems glad that lesions are gradually resolving, but I have had a long history of bad headaches every few years, various diagnosis including trigeminal neuralgia! So wondered if I've had lupus for a while. MS seems to have been ruled out. Joints bad at moment with tiredness. Hope you are feeling OK. Best Wishes Mandy
