If you want to carry on with the job, you can as you can still get PIP and work. I work part-time and receive PIP. Sending you best wishes xx

You can have a full time job and still get PIP. If your happy working why not continue? It means more money to help you get things/help with what you need.

hi Chris, how can you qualify for pip if we work, I thought if they prove you are fit for work we had no case, cheers Steve

Not at all, you can still work with a disability, the idea of PIP is to help you be as independent as possible and if you need 'help' getting dressed to go to work amongst other things then you could possibly qualify. To my knowledge it is means tested but not having knowledge of DLA not sure how different it works. I know when my daughter applied and was assessed the person helped her by asking how she was on one of her really bad days. It was the hospital consultant who said she should apply as she has difficulty bending and wrists that cause pain on certain tasks around the home. (she works full time getting people back into work 😊) I couldn't tell you how much she gets as I believe there are certain levels and depending how much assistance you require sets the payment.

I must confess, we were both very surprised that she was given any payment. I also think that she will be assessed again at some point to see how her circumstances are.

Hope that helps

Sounds similar to the states. Then the cyclical nature of SLE unlike some other illnesses presents its own problems.

They say no work prior to determination but then some work is permitted and I believe encouraged in the states.
