I had my first rituximab infusion on Tuesday which went really well apart from low blood pressure and feeling hot during the infusion. Felt absolutely fine yesterday but today I feel dizzy and light headed and a bit weird!
Has anyone else experienced this atall?
Freaking out a little bit!

Hi, I had low blood pressure during infusion had to drink loads of water to help, which meant going to loo every 5 mins after, as you know not that easy when dragging that machine with you to go! I had day off work next day and rested and felt tired but ok, the following day I was back at work and whilst I was generally ok I did feel a bit weak and my legs felt like jelly when standing but not really that dizzy. Good luck with it all, it's been 5 months since mine and in last three months I have had no joint pain whatsoever and my bloods have been much better over last few months (white bloods back up to 4 something this time last year one was under 1!) and feel it has worked well for me. All the best x
Hi Jo...I had my first infusion last Wednesday and felt ok. For two days I felt like the Duracell bunny and put it down to the steroids they gave me (already taking them daily). I even went to work the next day. Sadly, on the Saturday I had a really bad migraine and was really sick. Wondering if it was the mixing of the infusion with the methotrexate???? Will do as Butterflywings suggests and will drink more water when I have the next one next week. Maybe I don't drink enough
Keeping everything crossed that it works as I soooo want to come of the steroids!!!! Hope it works for you too xx
Thanks Jo, I hope it does too as have had a bad year. Suffer with Rheumatoid Vasculitis and it's really knocked me for six. Not feeling too bad at the moment and looking forward to the xmas break!!
Definitely worth getting your BP checked. Am trying to avoid people with colds and flu at the moment which is a job in itself!!!!!
