Hi 'am just been told today that I have lupus as well as "Kikuchi?...can anyone tell any more about? Thanks

I'd never hear of kikuchi disease myself, and am curious, so I googled it just now & discovered that Wikipedia has an entry on this condition. The info seems sound to me, and Lupus is mentioned as a possible cause. Here is an excerpt:

The cause of this disease is not known although infectious and autoimmune etiologies have been proposed. Course of the disease is generally benign and self-limiting. Lymphadenopathy most often resolves over several weeks to six months. Recurrence rate is about 3%. Mortality is extremely rare

Hi, I had kikuchi about 20 years ago I had a lump at the side of my throat, when I went doctors, I was refered to hospital. I was told by the consultant that I had touched some animal hair !! And this had caused a infection for my gland to swell. Anyway still don't make sense. I am now 40 and got lupus about two years ago..so don't working there is a cure for kikuchi did your rhemy recommend anything?

Jeevan...I had a lump on the side do my throat 30 yrs ago. Clinic asked me if I had a boyfriend? I said no, they thought it was a sexually transmitted disease...made me feel awful....gave me antiobiotics. Never forgot that. It was huge.
