If things get worse, how much do you get in UK from benefits if you can't work anymore?

Hi All - what would I get in benefits if I can't work anymore - UK ? Is there a simple answer? Worked all my life and paid all my NI. Never claimed a benefit so haven't got a clue! Thanks x

No easy answer I'm afraid. You need to speak to CAB. A great deal depends on your circumstances. Potentially DLA, ESA or income support or combinations thereof. Are you living with a partner, does your partner work, do you have dependents, do you have savings etc .... The rates for each benefit are available on at the website gov.uk/government/.../benef.... Sorry not much help I know, but everyone is different.

Hi Singlemumloopy

I'm echoing what kinnea has said. The CA B will run a benefits check for you to see what your entitled to and will help you fill in the claim forms. They must be done in a certain way to maximise chances of success. They will also help you with any employer problems you may have as they have employment specialists.

Good Luck, tough decisions your making!X
