I seem to have developed yellow toenails. It is on my big toe and is not painful.
Can Lupus cause this? anyone else have this?
I am on MMF and steroids, could the weakened immune system cause this?
I don't know whether to go see my GP or not?

Hi Heights69,
I have attached our factsheet on 'Lupus and the Feet' for you to have a read. I would suggest speaking to your GP if your toenails become painful or you experience any discomfort.

If there's anything else i can help you with please do let me know.

Hi Heights
Your toenail could be a fungal infection caused by the steroids. Usually they're not painful and I've had several recently. You can get over the counter treatments for them but it might be worth seeing your GP to ask his advice.
Hope I've helped?. X
What I thought was fungus turned out to be "toe trauma" from shoes. I've lost sensation in my feet and cant always feel how badly my shoes fit..was eventually referred to a chiropodist and she said it was toe trauma. My toe nail was discoloured but nothing to do with any fungus as a doctor in rheumatology had said. I'm waiting now for a fitting for NHS shoes. See your gp or a chiropodist is my advice
